Many things can lead to cramps. the biggies: de-hydration--drink more water, low potassium--eat bananas or potatoes, or take supplements, over exertion--stretch before & after, take hot showers/baths, holding one position too long--move around if posible. hope this helps.

Could be nutritional deficiencies. Take a high potency multiple vitamin-mineral pill daily, and calcium-magnesium-zinc pills with each meal. . Stay well hydrated (drink lots of water), and eat more fruits and vegetables for potassium.
Clear all this with your doctor if you are under treatment and taking prescription drugs for any kind of condition.

most common are being cold, , and dehydration...being cold the body reacts in any way it can to raise body temp... when you are dehydrated your body muscles spasm and tighten up....i know when diving we usually drink between 1-2 gallons of water before diving to prevent cramping...
