All alchohol is an depressant. You can drink anything and start crying. Some people are more predisposed to becomeing sad and depressed when drinking. People on anti-depressant shouldn't drink at all because when you sober up you are really depressed. It may be because Gin is strong so you can get to that point faster.

What up with the "ye"?

I don't drink, but my mother in law drinks gin and she does not get depressed, perhaps coz she drinks sensibly.

all alcohol is depressant. In the short term it seems to be stimulating because it supresses the inner censor.
