Through practice, you can learn to control the signs of anxiety. The best time to practice is when you are not feeling nervous or anxious. Picture yourself in a stressful or anxious situation and then watch yourself in the mirror to see what types of behaviors or involuntary body movements, such as shaking or sweating, you are displaying. Then focus on calmness and control, and watch as you appear to relax. Also taking deep breaths and forcing yourself to concentrate helps. If you practice enough, when you are faced with the real thing, your body and mind will automatically go into the calm mode so that even if you are still nervous, you won't appear to be to your opponent. Good luck!

I have battled with anxiety for many years, (15), and the best way i have learned to control it is too do breathing exercises. This is what i do: close your eyes, breathe in through your nose and out your mouth; don't take deep breaths just breathe normally; concentrate on the breathing, do this for a couple of minutes, open your eyes and you should feel calm. Another one is to exercise. I do yoga and work out about 3 days a week. It sounds like maybe you have social anxiety, but i'm not a doctor so i don't know. My doctor gave me a simple test to take so he could better assess my problem. I really hope this helps you! Good luck!

take a couple of deep breaths, slowly, that is....also, think of happy thoughts, positive thoughts as well and none should be negative. what helps me is to listen to some classical music which is proven to lessen your anxiety and help you do better in any situation according to research in the past years. also, i have a water fountain-the small kind-in my room and soothing sounds seem to work for me. each person will respond to different things therefore i would suggest experimenting, stop worrying, start enjoying life and having fun! anxiety or worrying or nervous can be under control if we stop worrying so much! in today's society everybody worries about the smallest thing which makes you wonder: what is wrong with this picture? dont get me wrong, worrying is good but anxiety can take over your life -trust me.

Take a high potency multiple vitamin-mineral pill daily, and calcium-magnesium-zinc pills with each meal. Read The Relaxation Response by Benson for exercises to achieve greater calmness. Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine has a good chapter on how to achieve a healthy mental state with lots of good exercises and suggestions.
Good luck!

Try breathing exercises. Also if you use visualization techniques, it will help. If you visualize yourself going through the situation - what you will say, how you will respond, what you will do - it makes you more prepared for the actual event. Also, remember that you can get through anything - some things just may be more of a struggle than others.
If all else fails - get xanax from your doctor!!

Get enough rest, avoid alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, and nicotine. They increase your anxiety level.
