whether-spoons pubs do a selection of real Ales. They will usually have at least 3-4 on a night. Their house ales are Deuchars and directors. However customers have told me tat the best they have had is Old Mortality

Technically i'd say Burton-on-Trent. The water there is so sturdy for ale brewing, breweries in different factors 'burtonise' their water. That suggested, that's somewhat uninteresting there - and that's being sort... London has many small beer fairs for the period of the year as properly because of the fact the extensive GBBF each August. It has The Harp - final years CAMRA Pub of the year (it rather is for the entire uk), The Edgar Wallace, The Euston faucet, The Speaker and somewhat some extra surprising beerhouses. you will no longer get the variety in a smaller city... verify out the 'London Drinker' month-to-month e-e book attainable for loose in any first rate boozer for all of the information. Fuller's is be the only huge previous brewery left in London now - weird and wonderful for this way of huge city.

My personal all-time favourite (which is widely available in many pubs in London) is Timothy Taylors Landlord, brewed in Keighley, Yorkshire. My favourite local beer is Fullers London Pride.
A great pub for real ales is the Market Porter by Borough Market, near London Bridge Station, but there really are large numbers of good pubs all over the city.

If there were a "best real ale", the beer market would collapse and everyone would be drinking the same dreck. There are good beers, and better beers. There are even SOME beers that aren't so good. But there is no "best" beer! My advice though, is to pretend there is, and that you haven't found it yet, so you'll have to keep looking, and keep trying new ones.
The pubs in London which I am fondest of are in Camden Town and Kentish Town.
Cheers!
P.S. The bad news is that "Bud Lite" is the best-selling beer in the world, but the good news is it's such a fragmented market, there are so many different beers, that Bud Lite only accounts for about 3.5% of the total market!

Not knowing what your taste in beer is and what you consider would make somewhere the best place, I'd check the CamRA (Campaign for Real Ales ) guide.
I would keep away from the chain pubs like Weatherspoons, and find a more traditional pub. There are thousands to chose from, it depends where you are in London.

Not sure if the Firkin pubs still exist as I haven't lived in London for almost 10 years. They did their own brews. One was called Dogbolter and you didn't need too many of them!!

I don't think there is a best real ale, but keep looking and trying new beers and beer styles, (bitter, IPA, Mild, Stout) to better get an idea what you like.
The White Horse in Parsons Green is very good for beer.
