Anyone have any advice about taking photos for an auctioning website? Which cameras? Ive heard that a wide angle lens would be the best. Is this true? I have a fujufilm S5200 right now, will that do alright? Thanks.

Any camera can work, but it ultimately depends on what you are taking pictures off and how much detail you wish to show.

A wide agle lens is a choice as it lets you get more of a large object, and in macro use they typically let you get closer to the subject which means it will appear larger in the resulting photo.

Macro function is more what of you are looking for rather than just wide angle. Zoom cameras/lenses often have a macro function too.

And ultimately it will depend on how much money you really want to spend on the camera. A standard 3.2 megapixel or greater digital camera with 4x optical zoom will do a decent job cheaply, whereas a Digital SLR or SLR-like 5 megapixel or greater will do a very good job.

EDIT: For Taking pictures of houses a wide angle lens would come in handy, especially for pictures of the interior. Outside shots can be accomplished with a standard lens or even a zoom lens, but for good interior shots a wide angle lens is preferred.

Get any Canon camera in the 3 to 5 megapixel range (max resolution on a computer monitor is 3 megapixels).

Your Fuji camera will be perfectly OK. And by using the supplied Fine pix photo software you can alter the image as you wish.

Depends what you're photographing. if it's small items I'd go with a longer zoom this way you reduce stuff in the background.
