I met a lady a while back, and I was up front with her that I didn't want to "date her" and just to be friends. She later on told me that she does want to date me, and for me to let her know when I am ready. So as time went on, she asked my brother and I to play in a flag football tournament, which is this Saturday. We had a few practices and I am interested in a friend of hers, but I haven't made it known to her friend yet. So finally, my question is, is this wrong of me?

I appreciate all of your answers, I am just a little worried about her friend(Lacey), rejection isn't something anyone wants to go through, but what is life if you don't take chances? Thanks again ladies

You were honest and up front! Yea you! Seriously, you made it very clear that you just wanted to be her friend. You knew she was interested and you could have been a skum and taken advantage of that. However, you did the right thing. YES, you can date the friend. However, any girl who you tell that you do not want to date and she basically says hey if you don't find anything better please choose me, I feel a little sorry for. Be gentle with her feelings; let her know what a great girl you think she is, you think of her as a sister, but you are into this other girl. Good luck! :)

No. You made it clear to this woman that you weren't interested in dating her. She clearly didn't "hear" the message and figures that miraculously you'll "fall" for her eventually. It's clear that you haven't "fallen". Anyway, you are perfectly within your rights to ask her friend out. You have been completely authentic with the "lady" about your lack of interest, so if her feelings get hurt, then she'll have to deal with it. You owe no explanations to the "lady" either- by the way. Good Luck!

No nothing is wrong with this situation. You cannot control whom you are attracted to, you have been straight forward with the first lady and told her you weren't interested. Now you need to get friendly with her friend - perhaps share a pint after football on saturday? Good luck with your future relationship

No this is not wrong of you! You two are not dating, you were up front with her about not wanting to date her, you are not doing anything wrong. But it does sound like she likes you, so be prepared for her feelings to be hurt. But you do not need to hold back in your life when you are not committed to someone. Go for her friend!! hope this helped.

Ummm yes but no. If your honest with the girl that likes you all she can do is respect your feelings. You cant change who you like. Let her and the friend know your true feelings. Its better to be honest with everyone.

YES, and most likely if it's a good friend. She won't date or having anything to do with you due to her existing friendship with the woman who likes you.
I would personally tell you to "stick it", if you hit on me and my friend liked you.

I think it sounds ok. She might have her feelings a little hurt but it's not like you lead her on. Sometimes there's just no chemistry. Not your fault..go for it!!
