cream or white - i'm traditional. Don't go for dark red - I know someone who did that and it looked awful! a lemony yellow would be a nice colour for may through - quite summery, but not too loud.

It depends on if you are having a morning, afternoon, evening, or night wedding. That will help decide if you want to go with a lighter or darker colors. Another thing to factor in is if it will be out side or not. In the morning I would say try and go for more lighter colors were inside or outside. Just because it would be miserable for your bridesmaids if it was 11am and they are in dark blue, because they will be hotter than hades. At night you can pretty much do any color as far as dresses. Look at it this way most proms are in May and at night and most of the girls were any color they want. Plus it is your soon to be husband's and your wedding. You can have any colors you want! I got married in the summer and had a white/ champagne colored wedding dress, my ladies were in black since I could never get everyone all together to find matching dressing, and the guys were in black with a white shirt and a blue tie and vest, then my flowers were pink, red and white. So honestly if you choose all your colors right it won't matter how many you have as long as they match. Whatever makes you and your new hubby happy should be the number one priority! Its your guys' day have fun with it!

Stay with the softer shades, as in most areas spring is just truly beginning. I got married in may and we used a really soft purple and a cream color. In the bouquets, we used some deep purple to set them off, but over all we used the soft colors, and it was very pretty.

I just took a few pictures of my bouquet, to show you. Sorry the lighting is a bit off, as they are hanging on my wall now, but I think you can see the basic idea of what I was trying to say.

I am getting married in May and I am going for Ivory and Lemon. Check out the flowers in Season for May and choose from those colours. Good Luck..

OOOHHH! May wedding!!! I got married this past May (360 photos). I stuck with one color of light yellow. However, I teetered on a light green and periwinkle. In the end I only went with the yellow, but I always love pastel colors in the spring time.

Congrats!!

The color of Spring Blossoms -- and use the flowers that are blooming or about to bloom in your color scheme and the flowers you will carry or decorate the locations with. The more you choose the local flora -- the more special your wedding will be to those who live in your area that you have invited -- and if you use local potted plants, you can then transplant them around your new home.

In my wedding last June I used Light Blue, Light Green, and Yellow. The Bride's Maids and Groom's Men alternated the Blue and Green and the yellow was in teh flowers and Decorations. It was really nice.

I don't think you should feel that you can't use a certain colour for a certain month, use your favourite colours!! If you really MUST have a seasonal colour, then go with emerald green, emerald is the birth stone for May.

I would go with spring colors. Then you could use flowers that are home grown to help in the wedding and have a little less expense.
