I wanted to answewr but the hypocrisy of whynotaskdon's answer is crippling me.
One sect has a book that they claim contains the immutable truth of God. They call that book 'the Bible.'
Another sect has a book that they claim contains the immutable truth of God. They call that book 'the Qur'an.'
As the two books are remarkably similar and both demand total obedience, what goes for Muslims goes also for Christians -
Oh, except that Muslims go to heaven for following God's word and hell for disobeying it. For Christians, it would seem, believing in Jesus is all that matters. That puts Christianity further away from morality than Islam, in my opinion.
However, to people like you and me, of course you're right. Blind obedience to someone _else's_ concept of right and wrong is not only amoral but it is a sign of arrested development. Which is sad.
Luckily a Muslim and a Christian can live lives that are 99% moral by my understanding of the term without disobeying their little books either. So for the most part it doesn't matter.

Morality is never in absolute terms. A group decides certain things to be morals and others immoral.
This morality is a transitory tool to keep the herd in discipline.
Problem arises when some try to impose their morality on others, who are from an entirely different culture and need not be ready for their set of moral values.

According to Christian Scripture it is not possible to be a Muslim and a moral person. Of course, according to Muslim Scripture, it is not possible to be Christian and moral, either.
Intriguingly, Hindu Scripture teaches that a good person is a good person regardless of their faith. I'm not suggesting there is any validity to Hinduism, just that it seems to promote harmony a little more than Christianity or Islam...

Paragraph ONE says it all!
Shaheed Belts are NOT MORAL!
The Sword of Islam is not MORAL!
Twisting the TRUTH is NOT MORAL!
"Not Jesus, but a look alike, was substituted and crucified at the Cross." -4:157
THIS IS BLASPHEMY - AND A LIE! No proof can be offered at all.
~~~~~~~~~
The Unholy Book is NOT MORAL!
The Verse Of The Sword from Al-Tawbah
Fight and slay the pagans (infidels) wherever ye find them, and seize them,
beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war." - Sura 9:5
"Prophet, make war on unbelievers and hypocrites, and deal rigorously
with them." - Sura 9:73
"Let not the unbelievers think they will ever get away. They have not
the power to do so. Muster against them all the men and cavalry at
your command, so that you may strike terror into the enemy of Allah
and your enemy... Prophet, (Muhammed) rouse the faithful to arms!
If they (the non-Muslims) incline to peace (accept Islam) make
peace with them." - Sura 8:59
"If they reject your judgement, know that it is Allah's wish to scourge
them for their sins." - Sura 5:49
"Believers (Muslims), take neither Jews nor Christians to be your
friends: they are friends with one another.
Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number,
and God does not guide (those Jewish and Christian) wrong-doers." - Sura 5:51
Buddhism teaches that we've been reborn any such enormous volume of situations that each and every being has been your mom. So, in case you spot all of us... any being in difficulty, ill, starving, and also you do not help them, once you had the skill to achieve this, is to disclaim ones personal mom. How is that corrupting moral duty? Buddhism is a faith in the international, a way of residing and a philosophy of action, taking the perfect duty for ones personal movements.
Your question presumes that Allah does not exist and does not actually reveal his will. (I don't believe either is true, I just wanted to point that out!)
Since muslims believe they are acting out of their conscience (as guided by Allah), then yes, by your own definition, they would be moral persons.
