There are a couple of sources of scholarships and grants for children of single parents or anyone for that matter.
First, apply at FAFSA.ed.gov. It will tap into need based financial aid with the federal government and also the college itself. It is free to fill out.
Second, 35 states in the United States have a website in which individuals can both apply to college and state financial aid at the same time.
Third, the high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships for its high school students. It involves an application and a little bit of time to fill out. It is another free resource to fill out.
Fourth, the college financial aid office has a list of private scholarships from organizations and companies. Some of them are listed on the financial aid website. This is a free resource, too.
Fifth, there are free membership scholarship search websites out there. Most are updated on a regular basis. I will provide a list of them.
Finally, some college majors and ethnic groups offer scholarships. Also, some well known companies offer scholarships. It is an idea to do a search on Google.com and Yahoo.com.
Good luck!

There are tons of scholarships that go unclaimed each year. Many $400, $500 or $1000 scholarships never even get applied for because people think it's chump change and not worth applying for. Well, get a few of those $500 scholarships and it'll really make a dent in your tuition bill.
Do a search on scholarships, search your major, your ethnic heritage, your town, your parents employers, your employer, hobbies, high school, local chamber of commerce/rotary/ lion's club etc. Left-handed? There is a scholarship out there for you! Older woman returning to school? There are scholarships out there for you. Do combined searches on more than one criteria "hispanic women aviation scholarships" etc. Also go to the college your child is applying for and they will have grant papers there to sign up for. Hope this helps you out hun.........Flo

Talk with a counselor at your child's school they should be able to provide a lot of information for you. Also if your child has applied to a college or interested in a certain college go for a visit set up an appointment with a counsel and financial aid department they are there to help you and it is free. Other than that there are is alot of info on the web. It also depends on what State you are in and if your child will be attending a private or public college. Being you are a single parent your child may qualify for an income based grant (I don't mean to speculate, I don't know your finances) as well.Their are SO many types of aides available...take advantage of using a counselor at your school it is their job and they can point you in the right direction! GOOD LUCK!!

the first thing i would do is apply for finacial aid (fafsa) meanwhile check into the scholarships through the high school guidance office and through the college. Most colleges will give you several great websites to check on scholarships. Remember to apply for more than what you need and even the smaller amounts, everything helps! Good luck!

various faculties and universities will help and a few have infant care purposes, too. What do U ought to furnish?? What do U want to do with a university education?? those are between the main questions as a fashion to be asked. come to a determination what U prefer to do, what occupation you want to get into, think of roughly what you want to learn and then learn faculties and universities. the a number of maximum costly ones will commonly present day better help than the small very own faculties will. State faculties are the common wager, notwithstanding, for citizens. look for faculties with toddler care centers or laboratory faculties on campus. Your grammar heavily isn't basically superb. on the same time as you write a letter of inquiry, your spelling must be quite good. Use spell confirm and get into the habit of interpreting the dictionary. Do prepare exams on line for the SAT and ACT, which you need to take in the previous than enrolling at school. in simple terms superb reliable fortune and God bless.
