Good Morning John,

The United States government spends millions and takes years to either physically, mentally or financially get their way.

In the South the Confederate veteran was a hero, a Christian, honest, integrity and brave. After 141 years through teaching, reconstruction, a Confederate soldier has become a rapist, racist and murderer. If you do not believe it ask” anyone”.

The Government has convinced you that if don’t believe in a cause or war then you are a traitor or coward. If you do not believe it, look at the comments of people answering your question.

When we had a draft, the problem was when someone with ties or money could not get out of it. Therefore, we went to a paid Army that has caused the world to view us mercenaries, again if you do not believe it write a country that you trust or believe or is not anti American. The politicians are NOT going to join the military in fact besides the public who have been convinced that we should worship the soldier not what he does or is told to do. However, the elite, politicians and upper class look down on the military. Again, don’t take my word check it out yourself.

The days of War the way people know it are gone. besides the right wingers, whose answer is bomb or kill it one knows you cannot win an insurgency war. Never has been done, and never will be, again don’t believe me look it up.

The North Koreans and Chinese could beat us in a nuclear or conventional war (do I need to keep saying it? If you don’t believe, it look it up). During the Korean War, Mao Tse-tung told us go ahead and attack us with your atomic bomb, there is no way to kill us all and you would be doing us a service”. That was true and remains so today. The North Koreans beat our butts then and would again, look at what my army (Confederate’s did to a MUCH bigger foe). Note: Where you aware there were these who wanted Lee to break up the Army and fight as an insurgency. If he had, we would be a free country today. Why, you cannot beat an insurgency they have won in every case.

I am sorry to have run on with an unpopular view, but the sad thing is it is true. You know what is coming. if you do not believe it look it up. God Bless You and The Southern People

You raise an interesting point. I've heard many a patriotic citizen say "if I could join you, i would". Now I realize some of these people have legitimate issues to keep them out like phyisical disqualification and the like, but I suppose a certain percentage thought they were "too old". Now the gates are open and where's the love? The truth is, many of my fellow Americans think they are too good for the military and that their endeavors would be better spent "fighting" by raising their family, going to WalMart and calling into talk radio. The truth is you can do all of that and more in the military.

Are you currently serving? Have you ever served? If not you can shut your mouth, because you aren't doing anything either! There is no law that says you have to serve, if they should have to go shouldn't everyone else who hasn't already served?! The military isn't for everyone, the are choosing not to go just as all the others choose not to! Politicians are doing what they think is right (regardless of if it is or not), and remember they are elected by the people, so if you disagree with them then don't vote for them next time!

I think that would be the perfect way to stop most of the wars we get involved in. If the politicians had to fight, how fast do you think it would end? I wonder if anyone has done any research into the number of eligible politicians children who are in the service....anyone want to bet the amounts are really a lot lower than the "average" persons child? Have a good day.

Well most of them never served in their youth either. They are a bit paunchy now and probably not much use to the armed forces. I suspect that they don't need the benefits and certainly don't want to endanger their lives needlessly when they could be back here serving us up the smorgasbord they call their policies and efforts that they make to help us. I always worry most when they are trying to help us.

Maybe they are. Do you know for a fact that none are enlisting?

The draft is voluntary and enrollment is at an all time high, so there's no shortage of volunteers.

Why don't you volunteer instead of telling others to go instead of you?

Oh wait, I know the answer to that question already...

HAHAHA

Gone are the days when political leaders rose to power because of their brave fights at the head of a batallion!

Now we have an illiterate, ignorant dumb that can't even talk, and played hookie in the sniff of a National Guard he knew.

Micheal Moore put it well when he said that Politicians want other poeples kids to fight the war, not thier own kids.
It is easy to say that you declare on another country but actually having to fight in it is a whole different issue.

What??? And ruin their manicures?!? The military doesn't have designer, tailor made suites. Not to mention they'd have to take orders. And the pay sucks. I could go on and on!

Because politicians are needed at home. Besides most politicians have already served.
