since oatmeal is a carb I don't eat any additional carbs like toast. I have a glass of cold milk and put bananas in the oatmeal. I don't put milk on the oatmeal. I also like the flavored oatmeals like maple and brown sugar.

I can't stand the excitement that I get from eating oatmeal. But in a reckless moment, I'll eat peaches & cream instant oatmeal.

I like to add dries fruit like cherries or cranberries to the oatmeal while it's cooking and then add a little honey or agave nectar it's also really really good to drizzle a little coconut milk over your oatmeal.

I put milk then beaten egg to make egg drops in my oatmeal, add honey or brown sugar to taste.

When I do not want sweet oatmeal, I put minced pork and chopped green onion + corriander in to my oatmeal, add salt & pepper to taste.

<<<<<<<< Minced Pork Oatmeal Porridge >>>>>>>>>

100 g minced pork (marinated with salt / garlic powder / corn starch for about 15 minutes)
120 g oatmeal
250 cc non-fat hi-calcium milk
600 cc to 800 cc water (depends on how thick you like it)
chive or green onion and coriander - finely chopped
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon of seasalt
white pepper

1) Boil the oatmeal with water in a cooking pot for about 15 minutes with medium to low heat, stir occasionally
2) slightly beat the egg
3) Pour milk in to oatmeal, bring to boil again and add minced pork to cook for about 3 minutes
4) Pour egg mixture into the pot, stir quickly to make egg drops. Add sea salt and white pepper to taste. Turn off the heat (do not over cooked the egg)
5) Sprinkle the chive / green onion into the pot
6) Serve with Chinese or Japanese pickles

If you do not like pork, you may change it to minced chicken or beef.

Usually have toast on the side, but sometimes like to put peanut butter in it.

I add a little bit of peanut butter - the warmth of the oatmeal melts it so it's easy to stir and so yummy!
