Okay, I have gotten two answers to this question, and I need to know why.

I am going out tomorrow night. I asked a platonic guy-friend: "Do you think I should wear my hair up or down?" and he says "I dunno, guys don't pay attention to that stuff. Wear it how you want..."

I asked the same question to a guy-friend that I use to have "benefits" with and he says "Hmmm....down."

What is up with that? Does one find me more attractive than the other, maybe?

Well the benefits guy most likely has a sex appeal towards you and thinks it is sexy when it is down. The Platonic just likes you as you are a buddy, no big deal to him.

No not at all .....some guys have different preferences than others. You just ask two different guys that has two different views. Now the fact that the one with the "benefits" actually give you a preference, he's being honest with you. He obviously was attracted to you at some point, so he's giving an opinion that he thinks will work for you. The other friend could have given the answer he did for one of 2 reasons...either he honestly don't care about little things like that or he's not looking at you that way....in a sexual matter.

No. the one who had benefits is more comfortable with being himself around you and gave an honest answer. The newer platonic guy is feeling a little something extra and is trying not to push you away. He's trying to figure you out. I'd say they both find you attractive. I would say wear the hair down for maximum effect. I don't think the friend w/ benefits would lie about which is sexier on you.

Couple possibilities. One is the one you insightfully put your finger on. That maybe the guy that you had 'benefits' with likes you more then the other one. One refinement to that tho, is, I think if that is the case it would be because the guy with benefits sees you more in an affectionate way than the other guy does; seeing you as just a friend.

Other ideas could be; just differences between psyches of the two guys. One may just be more in tune than the other one. Or, one may have different ethics (you'd know this better than I would of course) where he wouldn't get involved in a 'benefits' relationship.

Maybe you're just not your friend's type.....so he's not interested. Maybe the other guy is a horn-dog....lol. Different libidos too.

Maybe it's not even that complicated. Maybe your friend is so easy-going that he likes you EITHER way equally well. Maybe your hair being up or down isn't his hot button. Maybe if you chose a tight pair of jeans versus a loose-fitting pair he might specify one or the other! The 'benefits' guy might have a thing for women with their hair down, so he'd prefer to see you this way. I'd say he probably sees you more as an object than your friend does, so it's easier for him to request things of you that feeds the typical male's need for imagery.

Just a few thoughts.

Most guys like womens hair down, however, some like it short or up, it may just be difference in guys. Otherwise it may be that the one looks at you as nothing more than a friend, and the other looks at you as a potential girlfriend or lover.

Perhaps the guy friend who said either doesn't want to comment because he's afraid of being attracted to such a close friend. The other friend might like you and not be afraid to show it. If you want to know which of them to go for, go for the shy guy. They are usually the ones who have the stronger feelings.

The other day I asked my wife if she wanted to try on sunglasses, she said she needed perception glasses. Then I found out that she hadn't worn her contacts in three months. I love my wife and think she is very attractive but guys don't notice stuff like hair, glasses.

Well, Guys don't really THINK about stuff like that. But guys do respond visually. So, I personnally prefer long hair down.

What is the purpose of growing it if you hide it?

The one guy is your friend. the other was hitting it. He is more invested.
