well... i LOVE pumpkins!!! there, i said it, lol!! the "perfect" pumpkin could be hard to find... of course, you do want one that's firm, not mushy, not discolored, no mold, no holes, things like that... now as for size, some people like the tall oblong ones (i love those) because they make for some pretty awesome light ups on halloween night! some people like the typical short, stumpy pumpkins - they are easy to carve (but wait until just a couple of days before halloween, otherwise they'll rot) and they look nice also. i guess the perfect pumpkin for you would just be your preference - whatever you choose, have fun with it - halloween and carving come only once a year and we make it a family tradition to carve them together. of course, i also save some for decorating my yard for thanksgiving... anyway, good luck with your search, maybe one will just reach out and grab ya and say "pick me, pick me". have a great fall!!!!

lol youll no when you see it! trust me. if you find a pumpkin that your like ehh i dunno then dont get only get on that yuou HAVE to have. but a few tips. get one that is firm and not squishy and not brown spots(some have mud so make sur eits just that) just pick one you really have to have. im goin pumpkin shopping sunday i cant wait!!! just make sure its a good one not rotting. kinda told you about that earlier and good luck!!!

close your eyes and walk through the patch, the first one you trip over is yours. It isn't as painful if you have your child/children do it.
