I make egg sandwiches all of the time - breakfast, lunch, or dinner - they are a good quick meal. I usually cook about 3 slices of bacon crisp. I fry the egg (don't cook too fast!) on my countertop griddle with minimal fat. I break the yolk and cook it about medium (do not scorch it). When the egg is done, I place it on lightly toasted bread, add a slice of smoked cheddar cheese, lay the bacon slices on, and then I add thinly sliced tomato and lettuce (nice and crisp). You can add mayo if you like - I personally just enjoy it dry. These are best eaten shortly after assembly. Good eating!

I love egg sanwiches. You can have a delicious 'fried egg' sand. which consists of just frying the egg and just before it is 'perfect' break the yolk and spread it around the egg white part, meanwhile toast your bread and after that you just assemble the two together with a little mayo and a good mustard. YUM.

As for a traditional 'cold' egg salad sand.. You just hard cook your eggs, peel, of course, chop them up add mayo, mustard, chopped pickles a bit of salt and pepper, mix together and put in between two pieces of bread, crossiant or on a bed of lettuce!

I have friends in the UK, and they eat egg sandwiches there also!

Yes we eat egg sandwich in the UK! Hard boil an egg, cool and mash with good quality mayonnaise. Season with salt and pepper. Spread on a slice of lovely fresh granary bread, sprinkle over some cress, top with another slice of the bread and that's it. Lovely.

UK: I never eat egg sandwiches. However, when I did, I found that the best was when the not so hard boiled eggs were mashed up and some very finely chopped spring onions were mixed with them, were the best............ If I had some onions right now, I would definitely make some..............

A great one for egg butties is to get some nice rustic seeded bread, like a big bloomer loaf. Scramble some eggs and cook them until they're warm but still slightly soggy.
Serve on the heavily buttered bread with oodles of cracked black pepper. Lovely. You can even add a dash of cheese and a bit of Worcestershire sauce for a even better taste.

People in the UK LIVE on sandwiches and egg ones are very popular - and cheap... A good one is curried egg where you add a little Keen's curry paste, to mashed boiled egg and mayonnaise and you have to have it on WHITE bread - mmmm
