As i learned from my mum and my gran

I use old fashioned mesh type rollers and pins with a tight triangular hair net around them to keep them in place while i sleep as i have found that foam rollers take too long to dry,

what type of rollers do you use and how do you secure them to keep them in place while you sleep

I did that too when I was younger. I found STEAM ROLLERS. Buy some they are great! Make sure they are steam though, cause the electric dry heat really dries you hair out.

If you are still adamant about the rollers go to Sally beauty supply. I don't know where you live, but if you are in the U.S. you can find them there or maybe online.

They still make the old fashioned type of roller. It has a brush kind of thing in the middle of it that I always took out cause it was prickly on my scalp. The people there will know what you are talking about if you say the "black rollers with the bottle brush in the middle."

I think it would be really uncomforable to sleep in the plastic rollers, but I have bought rollers at walmart that are made of a soft foam material and are comfortable to sleep in, and also theyre under $5

Since the old fashioned technique is very uncomfortable to sleep in I bought the hot curlers. You plug them in and in 5 minutes they are ready to be used. You leave them in until they cool approximately 15 minutes and you have lovely curls.
Cost of the machine is $20-$30.

I use the two piece magnetic rollers with the large bobby pins to hold them together with a scarf wrapped around my head. I use 45 rollers. I do this nightly. The sponge rollers causes hair breakage, if you do use them you need to use end wraps for your hair then use sponges. I hate sponge rollers, beacuse you can't wet set your hair with sponge.

instead of rollers(because they can be very uncomfortable) I would use these things that are called "prongs"....You can find them anywhere....I'm not sure where i bought them, but they work really well! They are like little clips that are flat so that they don't hurt when you sleep.....and you roll your hair with your fingers and slide them in and they stay put! They are really useful, and they are not uncomfortable.

You can buy some from Wal-Mart and make sure they're tight when you put them in your hair then just go to sleep

it's easier to keep them in place with a shower cap and also a satin pillowcase to sleep on. your head slides as you sleep.
