That's just the point isn't it,in reality there is no difference. I suppose if there were a difference it would be whether it still has a large group of followers, many religions that once were very prevelant in their societies have died out and are now called myths.Such as Odin, the Vikings looked upon Odin with just as much reverence as a Christian looks upon Christ. The difference, and the reason it died out,was because it wasn't really forced upon people. You couldn't end up being murdered as a matter of course at any real time in Viking history for saying you didn't believe in Odin. The religions/myths of the middle east have stayed strong due to enforcement and extreme regimentation. And since they have the most power in the religious community they decide what is myth/legend and what is religious practice. Of course they will most likely tell you that God is real and Christianity is based on a real person, maybe too is the story of Odin, some great warrior from their past who over time achieved God like status, and most likely the same for all the lesser gods in their religion like Thor etc,the only difference between Christianity and the Vikings, written history period.

Spirituality is one's connection to the divine, be it within themselves or external. Some call it god, goddess, the All, the Great Spirit, etc. Religion are traditions, sacraments and systems that help ppl to forge and maintain that connection. A myth is the story or concept at the core of each different religion. However, it is entirely possible to spiritual without god, religion or myths.

In simplest definition, a myth is a story that interrelates man, nature, and god (whatever form of deity or non-deity there is in the myth). The word 'myth' does NOT mean false story.

A religion is taught as fact, believed on faith, and contains a myth at its core with philosophy and morality surrounding that myth.

Christianity is a religion. It's myth is "God created the universe and placed man at the top of nature, but man failed and lost his perfection. God cast him out, made him have to work for his living, and eventually sent laws and ultimately a final sacrifice to pay for man's sin." The philosophy is Christian apologetics, the morality is "Love God" and "Love your neighbor." Note that in this context, there is NO JUDGEMENT OF THE MYTH. I am not saying, "This story is false," I am saying, "This is the story that Christians use to understand man's relation to nature and God, and nature and god's relation."

Religion is the organised belief and code of conduct itself. Myths, folklores, stories, and legends exist in some religous text belonging to that religion.

Myth is within the religion. Religion is the belief itself.

A mythology is a religion that has been stamped out.

A religion is a mythology that mananged to stamp out its competition.

That's two different ways of saying that they are exactly the same thing. One just had more soldiers than the other to back it up.

There is no difference. Both are made by man, but the true word of God is the truth and will stand long after all religions and man's myths along with the rest of the world passes away.

Psalms 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

The word of God tells us that if we accept Jesus as our savior and repent of our sins, we shall have eternal life. Any religions that do not teach this is a counterfit of satan, designed to decieve you and lead you away from God's truth. Thus you loose your chance at eternal life.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

According to my college professors, myths aren't exactly false but they are stories.

I guess you can say that myth is hard to prove and religion can be proved somewhat.
