I am a youth pastor, and I have a myspace page, as does our youth dept. It is a great tool to connect our kids, as well as to introduce their friends to our church in a non-threatening way.
With that being said, I definitely understand your concern. It all comes down to a personal decision, and I hope an answer hits you. If you are offened or enticed by the ads, and they bother you, just stay away. If you are like me, and you are so used to ignoring pop-ups that you rarely notice them, then it might be ok.

Umm, hello. Pop-up blocker???? Duh.
And besides, if they are THAT offended by internet ads then maybe they should stay OFF the internet.

Don't bring them there. They will not or should not go there if they are Christians. There are things in the Bible that tell them not to look at immoral things. But I can't tell them what to do. I can just give some advice about what they should do.
