No. You'll have to strip out the black color. If it's your natural color, you'll have to have it bleached out to re-apply a lighter color. Do it professionally so you don't do too much damage to your hair.

Nothing will show over black. Tint will not lift tint. If you have it bleached, you will wind up with orange hair or really fried hair, that is if you can get it light enough to pass the orange stage.

Go to a professional if you want to lighten your hair. They will use a color remover, not bleach. and lift it to a stage that will accept a lighter color. I would not recommend going real light. Go to a brown shade. medium to dark. As time goes on and your hair recovers and gets back into healthy condition then consider going lighter if you want. But I would strongly recommend you waiting until that hair has been cut off and you are able to start over with new healthy hair before you go any lighter. When a bleach is placed over a color remover, then you are really asking for trouble.

You can color it with a wine or burgundy shade in a level 1 or 2. That will give you the color when you see it in the sunlight, without taking away your black hair.

Darker black! no I'm only kidding. most hair colors can go over black but its never like the color they show you. It usually comes out way darker so if you get a brighter color than it should turn out fine.

Dyeing your hair from such an intense color like black can be really damaging if not done the right way. I'd recommend going to see a professional first.

After all, your hair color won't matter if it all falls out!

If you bleach your hair first, most of the darker colors like maroon and browns will work well. Just be careful not to turn your hair to straw in the interim.

Go to Sally's and get "Uncolor" by Clairol this will take off any black hair dye you may have. It will get rid of semi-permanent hair colors, dyes and gets your hair ready for coloring especially if your hai is resistant

If your hair is really deep midnight black then you'll need to bleach the sections you want to colur first, then apply the desired colour. Your best bet is to consult with your hairdresser, they will know what is best for your hair type and colour.
Hope this helps xxx

a really deep blue looks beautiful over black hair, so that is just shows up under the light. Also a really deep red or purple.

Only if you want to bleach your hair, then color it, if not, you'll have to apply many color applications to it for it to truly show up, trust me, i know
