Very good point...
But do you think with childish philosophies, will they understand the depth of your statement?
It is very easy to point to other's faults and ignoring own blunders..
And when we start seeing and analysing our own self... we do not remain relligious...we become Spiritual...next step on our evolution
SHIRLEY: have pity on us and Save yourself....Hindus have a very great philosophy and they dont need your half-cooked theories. We respect your faith...you respect ours

I have often wondered the same thing. My soul is between me and whatever gods I worship. My best theory is that some people have been brainwashed into believing that their salvation hinges upon how many people they lead to god. Basically, for every soul they save, they get brownie points.
Invariably, some will use the "sinking ship" analogy. You know, if a ship were sinking and you were the only one awake at the time, would you jump into the lifeboat by yourself and leave everyone to drown or would you wake them up and see if they would get in the lifeboat, too.
It's a noble thought, sure enough, but one with flawed logic. With a sinking ship, you know the water is there. You see the hole in the side. You feel the ship tilting as it takes on more water. With spiritual matters, anyone could be right so it's not the same. And I always find myself wondering, why wouldn't a loving god make such impending doom painfully apparent? I'm sorry, but a 2000-6000 year-old patched up, over-translated, often copied book written by barbaric nomads doesn't cut it for me. You'd think an all-power, omnipotent deity could do better.

I like the sinking ship story because it is reflecting the reality of what's happening.
Personally, I feel that my limit is when I describe Islam to any body even if it is one sentence.
I don't believe in bushing the people towards Islam in a very bushy way because it is against the right of others. Just showing you what I have , if you are interested to have more you'll find me . Otherwise, it's a free country and the only man who will lose is you (NOT ME).
Please don't be offended by my honest words. That's why everyone is here is to say what's in their hearts without covering.

Personally, I wonder the same on how someone else's marriage will affect my own simply by its existence. To some it is decreed by their religion that they must spread the words of it around to any and all who might hear. To me this is annoying and stupid as my faith insists one should follow the path that works best for that person, and that it is not the exact same path for all. In the end it is your life and your choice to make. Though you may want some sympathy for them as it almost looks like the ones with the least faith are screaming the loudest about losing the rights to have it, but then again that is just my opinion.

I think Thomas Jefferson said it best. "It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."
But Shirley is right: Christians are taught that it is their duty to warn you of what they consider perils to your soul. It's sometimes quite annoying, but they mean well--most of them, anyway. Some just like to show what they consider their superior morality or think they have the right, as the majority in some countries, to tell others how they should worship.
Kudos to dansweaza for a great answer, and for reminding us all that not all Christians are this way, that there are a great many who honestly respect each person's right to follow his or her own spiritual or non-religious path.

Suresh,
I totally understand your question. Most of my Christian brothers and sisters can be quite asinine with their "turn or burn," and "get right or get left" posts.
But, take a step back from all the rhetoric and hellfire, and think about those people, who, like me, have benefited immensly (sp?) from a relationship with God. (Whether my reationship is real or imagined is irrelevant.) If I have found something that has made such a difference in my life, it makes sense that I would want to share it right?
That is where most Christians are coming from. Unfortunately, a vocal minority makes all of us seem like the most awful people, when in reality, most of us respect your right to choose your own religious beliefs.
And, have you considered that fact that God is using that person to relate to you on a personal level?

It doesn't affect me. But I want u to go to heaven with me, assuming God says you are worthy of paradise. I'm not trying to save you, only you can do that. Love is easy, and you must love God to know true love. And it's not technically between you, I mean it is your choice to come here & ask questions to Christians, we love love. And we love you.

"Worshipping idols" is a roadblock on your path.
Christians worry about you either because they love you or because they're afraid of having your blood on their hands when you reach the destination where you seem to be headed. The Bible says they're in trouble if they don't warn you. O.K.! So just tell them you know and don't care! Then, if they persist, they probably actually love you. Yuk.
