It never existed...

Noah was to build an ark and gather his family and two of each animal from the entire planet on it in preparation for a grand flood. In the world today there are approximately 15 million species of animals. Keep in mind that each species is a family; take the dog for instance which has around 230 different breeds. Let’s say for sake of argument that each species has 230 different breeds in it. That would mean that the total number of animal breeds on the planet would be 3,450,000,000 and if Noah was to take two of each animal this would give him a grand total of 6,900,000,000 animals. To give you an idea of how massive this number is the current world’s population is 6,547,487,050 humans. In order for Noah to get all these animals on his ark he would need to build an ark roughly the size of Africa. It is highly unlikely this ever happened. The amount of time and trees required to build an ark of that magnitude make it an impossible task. Additionally, let’s not forget how long he would have spent collecting all those animals.

A wonderful and great story, but Fictional.

Hope this helps

Ohh and the story of The Turks finding Noahs ark is an urban legend..

No one knows for sure. I would be one to think that it is somewhere on Mt. Ararat.. Since God buried Moses' body and noone knows where, then we can safely presume that he can hide an object the size of the Ark. Whereever it is, God only knows.

It has been said that the terrain around Ararat and the mountian itself is so bad that even people can't get to it. One would think that someone could be taken up there by helicopter but I think that has been tried as well as other means to approach it. Hummmmmmmmmmmm you'd think that God doesn't want anyone to search that area.

I'm not certain that it ever really existed. Even if there is historical basis (and outside of the Bible, I've yet to see any) for such a creation, it is doubtful it could have held two pair of every creature. I do have a pet theory that the Ark was actually a spacecraft which contained the DNA of every living creature. It was piloted from a dying world to Earth, where life was reinstated.

'Arkologists' claim to have found Noah's Ark
By Martin Wroe

LONDON -- Noah's Ark has been found on the Turkish-Iranian border, 32 kilometres from Mount Ararat, according to the leader of a team of scientists that has been investigating the site for six years.

The Turkish government is so convinced by the findings that, after years of intransigence, it has designated the site one of special archaeological interest and agreed to its excavation next summer.

Buried Ark The remote site contains a buried, ship-like object, resting an altitude of 2,300 metres.

At 170 metres long and 45 metres wide, it conforms almost exactly to the 300 cubit by 50 cubit boat that God told Noah to build, according to Genesis 6 in the Bible.

On surrounding terrain, the American and Middle Eastern scientists have identified huge stones with holes carved at one end, which they believe are "drogue-stones," dragged behind ships in the ancient world to stabilize them. Radar soundings indicate unusual levels of iron-oxide distribution.

Salih Bayraktutan, head of geology at Turkey's Ataturk University, estimates the age of the 'vessel' at more than 100,000 years.

"It is a man-made structure and for sure it is Noah's Ark."

The site is directly below the mountain of Al Judi, named in the Qur'an as the Ark's resting place.

Map David Fasold, an American shipwreck specialist with no religious affiliation, has led the investigation. He says subsurface radar surveys of the site have produced "very good pictures."

"The radar imagery at about 25 metres down from the stern is so clear that you can count the floorboards between the walls."

He believes the team has found the fossilized remains of the upper deck and that the original reed substructure has disappeared.

The 1994 article is way outdated - that was just a bunch of rocks. The ark is at the bottom of Loch Ness - Nessie uses if for a den.

If it ever existed, which it didn't, it certainly wouldn't be around now.

It was made of wood, which has a fairly rapid decomposition rate. If Noah's ark ever existed, it would be mere dust today.

I do think it is in Turkey, on Mt. Ararat. The Turkish government still will not scientists in to study where they think it is.
