To everyone who believes in God: Are you freaking retarded or what? You believe in God coz it says so in a book?
The freaking book was writen by people it wasn't sent from the sky. Your faith is blind, open your mind and show us your of the non-stupid kind.

PS: Face it, once your dead...your dead. Maybe it's because you want to live forever, to go to some magical world, but seriously, do you really want go to a world where you can never (f)uck again, where your wings get in the way when your trying to sleep, where you can never do something marvellously evil ever again?

I mean relegion is source of most wars in the world, it's ironic since most holy books are about peace(except the Karan that says you will be greatly rewarded if you kill Christians)

Jane D see what I mean. It says 'Believe in God and you shall live for eternity in heaven, if you do not you will burn in helli it says in the bible. Isn't that just a trick to get you to believe? If someone just told you that would you believe him? no. It's as if text has some magical power.

"Why do you believe in God (retards)?"
There are many examples of god retards....allah, buddah, the pope, etc.

This question and its asker are examples of retards, but not god retards, unless you gather a following of fellow retards with your same beliefs.

To that, there IS only One TRUE God. You'll find out!

Hay dick-head . It is very wrong to use the word retard to describe anyone who believes in god, his son Jesus, and his word the bible.
The bible syas clearly at 2 Corinthians 4 v 3,4 how things are.
Satan rules at the moment. How else could the Devil offer authority as recorded at Luke 4 v 6 ?
The bible book of the Revelation to the apostle John contains many references to( Rev 12 v9 ) Satan misleading 'THE ENTIRE INHABITED EARTH ' so no exceptions. even true christians can still be tainted such is the vice like grip and absolute control that satan and his demons have on the things which influence human beings.
Revelation 13 v 13,14, 16
revelation 20 v 3
Why do you not believe in god ? because stan does not want you too. i bet you have never even read the bible , not once.
you are probably the kind of narow minded person who accepts what other people say as being true without question and without looking into things for your self. Pray to god that he takes the blinkers from your eyes so that you see the truth .

Retarded? Not really. Most have just been conditioned to accept the absurdity that the reality they perceive is not real, that their perceptions lie, and that these made up stories about an underlying "reality", stories they cannot confirm in any way, are more reliable than their own senses. They are emotionally and mentally ill, gullible, desperate, often stubbornly devoted to ignorance and hostile to learning, but their mental deficiency is a conditioned response.

My neighbor and I both lived in upstairs condos overlooking a stream populated with heron. His dog desperately wanted to jump off the deck and go chase the birds, so his owner conditioned him to stay on the deck by leashing him so that he could reach the edge of the deck but not jump off. He used a barbed choke-collar, so the more the dog tried to get off the deck, the more he tore holes in his own throat. Eventually he stopped going to the edge of the deck at all, and the owner was able to replace the choke collar with a regular collar, and eventually no leash at all. The dog wasn't brain-damaged. He was conditioned to not do what his owner didn't want him to do.

We can both agree that humans have the reasoning facility to understand they've been conditioned with religion by power elites so they can be more easily controlled and used. As David Kou, formerly of the White House Faith Office of Faith Based Initiatives reveals in his new book "Tempting Faith", the Republicans have complete contempt for the religious right which Karl Rove calls "the nuts" behind their backs, but they cynically use them for their own political power. It was ever so from the first tribal rulers down to this day. It's an ugly con game, but the believers are almost psychologically incapable of understanding these beliefs, which "feel" right, are actually nothing more than a social control program as old as community itself, devised to keep them weak, dependent, suggestible, irrationally gullible and ripe for manipulation by anyone that knows the lingo and the symbolism.

So they aren't retarded, but they are brainwashed and debilitated, and some you can help, but most are non-recoverable.

I was a good church going christian girl, then I came to my senses. I felt the anger towards the church you feel now, I felt I had wasted so much of my life, the guilt being a christian left me with - feeling guilty for experiencing pleasure is not right. I am not going to rant at the christians. I have a belief system, I am a Pagan. I am not saying that my Gods and Goddesses are the correct Gods and anyone else will go to a hell dimension, that is persecution of other faiths. I believe in what I believe in but with the fundies would leave me alone. Pagans don't believe in the devil let alone worship him! What annoys me is when preachers knock on the door or accost me in the street, or one woman who got on the bus who was very verbally abusive to everyone, but hey she is an annointed one of christ so she can pick fights with anyone because she has some god on her side. I believe in tolerance and not pushing a religion onto people, telling them they are evil and are going to hell is not going to win followers. Could this be why church congregations are getting smaller?
Are you angry because you have recently left a church? If so then get it out of your system and don't let them bring you down. You are now free so enjoy living! I haven't looked back!

I grew up in a religious setting & tried many different beliefs to find answers & didn't so I thought along the lines like U. It gets U depressed, angry, an empty human being when U cannot believe in something. One thing I doubt U would wear wings. Ever watch Silvia Browne or the like? Just try it, U might be enlightened to something that U never knew before. Go to the library & get a book about life after death from a few different authors. No joking! Open your mind up a little.

If you read as poorly as you spell then any religious writing would be wasted on you. People believe for a variety of reasons ,not just from reading books . The written word is only a means of transmitting ideas from person to person , the message could just as easily be depicted in spoken stories or paintings ,sculptures or carvings in wood or stone . ( like Celtic crosses telling the new testament stories for the illiterate people of the time ). The time will come in your life when you will believe so strongly that nothing will dissuade you from your belief . Mark my words .

People have different concepts of what "God" actually is, not everyone gets it from the bible, nor does everyone believe that "God" made us in "his" image. I understand and have some sympathy for your argument but "God" to me is love. I didn't learn it in the book, in fact the book turned me away. I learned what "God" is by some very sinister and sick characters in my life, I learned it by hating these same people and I really learned it when I forgave them which allowed the power of "God" into my heart and that power is LOVE, that's it, that's all!!! The power of "God" has the potential to exist in us all, it is the greatest power in the known universe, it is everywhere and it is greater than me, which is the only requirement in my set of beliefs, a power GREATER than me. Peace.

You're pretty aggressive for somebody that's saying he's passive about God. I'm not sure too many people are gonna take you seriously with that question, but I'll humor you with an honest response.

'Born-again' is not a belief in the words of a book, it is a belief in a brand-new, and intimately personal relationship with an intentional God.

You yourself are in relationships with people, and only because those people communicate back with you. Think about the similarities in how an intimate and loving God would be so loving as to call and call and call, but in the end to only establish relationships with the people who responded.

I can't see the wind, but I felt the breeze today. If you ask whether or not God is real, and ask for evidence of it, Jesus himself said you wouldn't find the proof. God is speaking to you all the time.. calling to you. It's up to you to listen. I believe in the God of the Bible, but only because I listened when He knocked, I asked Him and He answered, I communed with Him and He showed me Himself as the Word. It was, and is, personal. So........ listen. You'll get your answer if you ask the question you really need to ask, and then...... listen. Expect an answer.

Now your discussion about heaven and hell lacks of real relationship. The way I understand Heaven: the Presence of God. The way I understand Hell: the absence of the Presence of God. We can talk about that more, when you're game to talk about what the most enjoyable, most wonderful thing ever would be, and what it would be like to be in a place where there was only an absence of the most enjoyable, most wonderful things that would ever be.

Who are you calling a retard ? Seems to me that you need to do some searching. If nothing else look at the history of the Jewish people from the bible. Look at what was foretold about their existence that many years ago and what has happened and is happening in Israel. Then tell me that the Bible is just a book written by men. The Israelites were and are GODS chosen people. He has protected and always will. Consider this, they are surrounded by enemies. They are in a location of this world that has no natural resources and yet they THRIVE. They survived Hitler and came back STRONGER. They are now in the PROMISED LAND. Eternity, do you understand it ? Forever !! If it isn't heaven then it's HELL. Those are the only choices. You still have time to make the right decision.

AlexA seems to be very angry.
My answer to your question has nothing to do with a 'freaking' book.
(Although you shouldn't put-down anything you haven't read).
Basic science tells me there must be what many call "God."
There is design in nature.
Design necessitates a designer.
Is that too deep for you?
Another basic law is: an exterior force is needed for motion.
A heap of bricks will not become a building all on its own, it needs an outside force.
There are 50 billion galaxies ....someone had to be involved.
May I humbly suggest you put your anger to the side, stop listening to hearsay and do some serious research.

Now you can say "BAAAAGGHH!!"
