Although possible I wouldn't recommend it, if the dog hits the frame it could break the glass panel (which would be weaker than normal, probably). Why not fit a wooden panel in the lower part of the door and have the dog flap installed in that?

Get a dog house! It sound like more trouble than its worth fitting a flap in a glass door.

Are these sliding glass doors? There is a special panel you can get with the dog door already built in. They look really easy to install and require very little cutting.

better to put dog door through the wall. It would cost a fortune to do it through glass.

Yes make sure you buy the right one Single glazed Double glazed. You will probably have to call a glazier and he will decide if you need new glass or he can do it in situ
