I see a lot of questions about age difference in relationships. On the surface, most people say it doesn't matter but when you read the answers more closely, women tend to usually prefer maybe -5,+10 while men tend to prefer something like -10, +3. This seems to dictate that age must matter and that usually the man prefers to be older and the woman younger. As a young looking 40 something, I usually attract younger men. Since I started my family and career fairly late, I also tend to have more in common with them. However, knowing the general preferences I mentioned, I'm worried about marrying a younger man and losing him in 10 or so years to someone much younger. I'd like opinions from men but women with similar situations might have valuable thoughts as well. My current companion (not sure if he's a "boyfriend" yet) is much younger than me and has always been the pursuer. I gave him a chance mainly because we met in a Christian setting, not a bar or anything like that.

If they guy is the type to leave you for another woman down the road it won't realy matter what age you are. His nature will dictate that he will do it even to a younger wife too.
Your age will not matter. only that he loves you and what his true nature is.
my husband is 13 years younger.

I also have started a family late. I am 41 he is 34 kids 7&9 and married 11 years!!!! So at times I wish he was older because its like raising 3 kids. Older men do seem to know how to treat a women sexually and emotionally!! I do have a lot more in common with younger, but I am always wondering about if he was the older one!! He also was the doing the chasing!!

I'm 24 my boyfriend is 37. We've been together for more than a year. Have a baby on the way in 2 weeks. For me this is the best relationship I have ever been in. He understands me, cares about me and my two kids from a previous relationship.

My father and his wife have an 15 year age different. He is the older one. They have been together for 11 years and married for 6.

I agree with your apprehensions of choosing a younger man as your partner. It will be ok for a few years. You will age and reach your menopause. He will run after other woman. You may not like it. It will lead to tension and turmoil and may be separation. Why not choose some one near your age so that both of you can mature and age together and have lasting relationship.

It just depends on how the 2 people in the relationship feel. Personally I wouldn't want to date anyone that people would mistake as my father or grandfather.

You have provided a logical & accurate synopsis in your question.
Perhaps you might consider older men...Perhaps late 50's & 60's.
( With MONEY )....It is as easy to love a rich man as it is a poor man...

My wife and I have been together nine years at the end of this month. I'm her junior by seven years. Age doesn't matter, if you don't let it.
