i had hair extensions and i wouldn't recommend them to anyone! they are crap and ruin your hair! fake hair would look absolutely awful as it isnt the same texture as your own. it would never blend in properly - its like barbie's hair!!
my suggestion would be to do what i do and to get the clip in ones. you can use them for special occassions or for everyday use and they wont harm your natural hair. they can also be straightened, curled or coloured.

You need the think hard about whether you really want extensions. I have been having them for about 4 years and yesterday I had them all removed and my hair cut into a short bob. Extensions need to be redone every 2-3 months and obviously this is very expensive maintenance. Also when they are taken out you hair and scalp suffers greatly.
If you are keen to go ahead I would say that you should have them maybe a bit longer at the back and a few layers cut into your hair to blend it all in. This is how mine was and you couldn't tell that I had extensions. Also I would never recommend the fake hair - it looks truly dreadful (remember when you washed your Barbie dolls hair?). Fake hair just doesn't blend in with real hair.

My hair dresser had her hair put in extensions and it ruined her hair. Sorry, not a good Idea, I have seen the extensions too and you can see them unless you are meticulous keeping the hair styled so it can't be seen. I am trying to get my hair longer too, but I don't think the cost, chance of loosing the length I have strived to get or the look is worth it.

Don't do it. It will ruin your hair. Hair extensions rip and damange your natural hair. You will be stuck in a vicious cycle of having to get them tightened and reapplied and you can't take them our because your real hair will look awful from the abuse.
Why do you think Posh had to cut her locks off. Her hair was a mess.
Look after your hair as it is. Even if its thin, or short, that is much nicer that crappy cheap looking hair extensions.

Don't bother! Only real hair looks good - your hair is a good length - why not change the style or colour -fake extensions don't sit well and you cant style them with tongs or straightners

Hair extensions look quite good when done properly, but it can damage your real hair underneath, the glue stops you from brushing the hair properly, etc so take care if you DO decide to do it

I had real hair extensions and it was impossible to tell where my own hair started and finished they where right down to my bot and cost over £300 but looked gorgeous i had them in for 6 months but they ruined my own hair as it fell out in hand fulls and broke off and its taken 4 months for it to finally sort itself out,so be very wary.

If you are certain you want hair extentions get the clip on ones that way you wont damage your hair too much and you can also get cheap human hair ones! But yes i would suggest if you get them to have your hairdresser style them for you, that way you wont be able to tell you have them in!
