Going to the shelter this weekend and these pups have caught my eye. Looking for a pup that would be good company for our 11 year old dalmation. I love rotties and ours died a few weeks ago of cancer. I know I can't replace her, (she has BIG shoes to fill) but I think Oreo needs someone there with him all day while we are at work.

I would go for the rott/hound!!
As you know, rotts are big muffins, and hound dogs are even moreso. One consideration though, is that hounds tend to have a particularly smelly coat, a "hound" odor so to speak. I had a pointer mix and she was such a sweetie! I currently have a great dane/coonhound mix, and he is the biggest baby, yet so very caring and clued in to my needs.

The whippet/boxer would also be a good choice.

Here is what I would suggest .... take your dalmation with you to the shelter, and let HIM choose his new friend!! Most shelters will let you do this, because they understand the need for figuring out which will make the best companions.

My choice would be the boxer/whippet mix, because I think the temperment would be the best. Beagles can be barkers & minpins are a bit hyper. Rotties are very sweet if bred right / hounds can be a bit stubborn. Also, It would probably end up being close to the same size as your dal.

Leave England alone. They didn't qualify once, and all of a sudden everyone is taking the piss. They qualify more often then almost all other teams. Anyway I think they might do some kind of thing with Wales Ireland and Scotland. Poor Scotland, they did so well in qualifying, in any other group they would have made it.
