It depends on where you live. I went to Antonelli Institute located near Philadelphia, Pa. I enjoyed the school there. It was very hands on and I learned a lot from there. Also almost all the teachers there still work in the field, and/or still own their own business. So they will help you out with anything involving starting your own business. Another school that has a very good reputation is Brookes Institute in California. But depending on where you live you can find a school that offers photography as a major.

Most major schools offer photo majors as a branch of the Fine Art department (BFA, etc.) Just check locally and it should be easy to find a decent school. You're better off somewhere that doesn't get a lot of rain, so you can get out and actually practice the craft more often.

Where are you located? I majored in photography and went to OCA (Ontario College of Art). Also local colleges have great courses where you can catch up on your digital know-how. Also, there is a web-site that is area specific. Just type in http://photography.topcareerschools.com/?src=& and you will be asked to type in your zip or postal code and find a school near you.
