Absolutely. The National guard has been the first to go. Bush has been fighting a cheap war as far as paying our soliders so he has sent the guys on the lower pay scale. It is amazing how much of their own supplies that they have to pay for. My friend, who is National Guard, had to supply sheets, towels, bug spray, clothing, toilet paper, etc. The list was unreal...cost over $3000 to supply her own stuff. Also combat pay is less. The National Guard and the Marines are the primary soldiers in Iraq. Right now, they are the first to go and their job, to be the defense in our country, is leaving internal affairs uncovered. It is hard to call up the National Guard in an emergency since most of them are in Iraq.
