you can see my 360 page, from my answers profile. On the right side up the top there is my photo albums, there is a couple of albums with some wicked tattoos. If none of them give you an idea, just google it in the images section!

Don't get something too large or too small, get something that means something to YOU, don't be talked into anything you are unsure about. It is a reflection of your self, your style, your personality. If you like animals, get one that has good detail and that will look good 20 years from now. Some colors of ink will change with time. And choose wisely where you put it. Sure, you may want to show it off, but make sure you can when you want to and can't when you don't. Bottom line, it is primarily to satisfy you, so whatever your pleasure. There is a fine line between tacky and taste, but give it a good look around first.

why would you want something tha tyou don't know you want?

a tattoo is permanent. before you make an appointment or pick a spot on your body, you should KNOW what you want to get.

Picking something willy nilly will have you hating it five years down the road. And unlike last years founcy skirt - you can't just toss a tat once you're bored with it.

Look around, buy some mags, read some books. Whatever is significant to you can be put into an image and mad into a tattoo.

If you don't know what kind of things you want, I would advise not to have one done so soon. Tattoo's are forever, so what might seem like 'a really cool idea' in November might be the worst decision made in May.

When I decided on my tattoo, I thought about the design for months, picturing what it would be like. Now I have it it is wonderful and exactly what I wanted.

As for designs, is there not some image that is important to you?

There are two types of tatto shops. Those with tattooists. These people will put flash on you and nothing else. It will look like a tattoo. Then there are those with Tattoo Artists. These shops have people who can draw you something that you'll love having on your body for the rest of your life, and it will look like artwork not a tattoo. Talk to your artist, have something drawn up. Yes you can have some things removed, but it hurts more than getting tattooed, and will take several settings.

Do some research and make sure you really like what you're getting. I got a stupid cartoon figure on my shoulder when I was 19 and I hate it!! The one the lower of my back is great and I took time picking this and went to a few tattoo artists

Just remember this is for life! Nothing too big. Go to a proper tattooist - no backstreet shops.

Also remember one thing, in many people this becomes a habit that must be satisfied and they have more and more done. Looks silly.

One small tattoo looks pretty good.

i literaly decided to get my 1st tatoo done 5 mins before i got it, and even then i picked it out in 5 mins too. sometimes its better not to deliberate about it too long and just go for it altho on saying that, dont go for stupid lookin tatoos or somethin that you think is cool at the time and regret 5 mins later. it is a big decision so think it thru. go visit the tattoo artist prior to your appointment and browse his books, see can you get any ideas that way. good luck!

as you do not know what you want, try a temporary tattoo, the kind that wear off after so long. It sounds to me as if you are not all that sure you want a tattoo and the temporary ones can be tried and tried again, however if you change your mind about a permanent one, it really hurts to have it removed.
