Think about it....we have numerous things in a body we dont absolutely have to have in order to live.
i.e. TWO kidneys
tonsils
appendix
etc

Do you think if the life span of man was longer we might have needed those thimgs? Interesting, huh?

I know God shortened the life span because Scripture said He had mercy on us. How hard it is to live in this flesh and stay faithful. I just thought that was an interesting thought I had. And yes....thank God for two arms and legs!! We know what their purpose is....im just wondering what the purpose would have been for the other things I mentioned. Look at it from that point of view.

Actually, every body part has a function to help us live healthily.

Without two kidneys, I would be less capable of processing bodily waste, and God forbid if one kidney succumbs to a horrid disease.

Without tonsils, I am more likely to catch a cold or other infection that enters me through the mouth.

Without an appendix, when I was a baby, I would have had problems with my endocrine system.

...here's another one.

If I didn't have a dentist, I would actually need my wisdom teeth, as my back four teeth would be the first to rot. (Which is true, actually. When I was pregnant, my back four teeth did rot out, and now I wish I still had my wisdom teeth).

If Adam and Eve had not sinned, we wouldn't have problems with those things, and wouldn't need replacement organs and redundant systems. Thank God that He had the foresight to put them in there anyway. That's why our lifespan is as long as it is. Without them from birth, it would be a lot shorter.

Think : If you got lung cancer in one lung, you still have the other to survive. If you only had one lung to begin with, and got lung cancer, you're screwed.

If Adam and Eve had never sinned, they would still be alive today. God clearly told them at Genesis 2:16,17 that if they obeyed this simple command, they could continue to live forever. Death was not a part of God's purpose when he created Adam and Eve. He designed them to live forever in populate the entire globe and extend the boundaries of Eden. It may seem like a little thing, but for 2 perfect people it should have been a no brain-er. Even imperfect people realize they shouldn't steal--especially from someone who has proven to be very generous.
Because of that one act of selfishness, we have all the problems we see on the earth today. Furthermore, so that God's purpose for the earth can be realized, he had to send his perfect son to the earth so that his perfect life could make amends for what Adam so thoughtlessly gave up.
As for your question: God doesn't create without purpose. Just because man doesn't understand the reason for something God saw fit to put in our bodies, doesn't mean there is no use for it.

I've heard the appendix could have been there to digest grass or plants...I think that God's original intent was for us to be vegetarians. But the first animal was killed to provide clothing for Adam and Eve, and ever since, killing animals for food and clothes has been plausible. It was after the flood of Noah the Bible (Genesis) states that a man's years should only be 120 at best (look it up). Very few live to even that.

I believe in creation by Divine fiat, as well as the story of Adam and Eve, but your question is a bit misguided, perhaps.

We do need two kidneys, tonsils, etc. to function properly. As to the appendix, it is not proper to say it does nothing, only that we really have no idea what it actually does.

So, the answer to your question is likely, "yes," even if Adam and Eve had not sinned, we would still have those things. You don't think adam and eve only had one kidney or no tonsils do you?

I think that God made those things before Adam sinned...
The only reason that we all get to die is because we are not living in the Garden of Eden where the Tree of Life is.. That's why God kicked man out of the Garden because if he didn't, then everyone would not die because we would still be eating from the Tree of Life

I wouldn't be too quick to rule out that they might still have a function now. Just because we can live with out them doesn't mean they don't have a function. A man can live without one arm, but does that mean that arm was always useless?

These are things that we needed when we were animals. For example, the appendix is a filter. It trapped the bacteria ingested by eating raw meat. But now we cook our meat and there is almost no bacteria, so no need for appendix.
