I have even asked the clerks at stores this question and all I got was, the + is better and not many people buy the -. I burn movies all the time and have used both. Personally I can't tell the difference.

its the recording format '-' is officially approved by international forum '+' is not it was invented by sony however + is supposed to be better for data protection
