The proper treatment that yields the best results with the least efforts is quite individual; hence - it is try and test, try and test. Depending upon the type(s) of psoriasis you are suffering from, there are several treatments that may work for you.

I have had psoriasis for twelve years, starting out with just small plaques on my elbows when I was eighteen. As I turned 24, I had a severe outbreak. Regardless of the amount of light-treatments and "pots and lotions" (Calcipotriol, cortisones, dinathrole etc) it just became worse over the years. Last year, as I turned 30, I had yet another outbreak that rendered me physically handicapped (soles of feet and hands). My dermatologist wanted me to take biogenics due to the severity of my disease. However, biogenics being a rather costly treatment, my health-insurance insisted I would try a less expensive systemic treatment first. Hence, I started taking fumaric acid. After approx. three months my skin cleared up quite well and I have been using fumaric acid since.

If you are living in the States, I think fumaric acid is not prescribed by dermatologists, and is only obtainable through health-food stores. Here in Germany, it became a standard systemic anti-pso-treatment in "school-medicine" some fifteen years ago and has proven itself to a potent remedy. In addition, extensive research has been conducted on it's effects, and the side-effects are - if any at all - small.

Yet, as I wrote previously, finding the optimal treatment for yourself includes a lot of try and testing - all which can be quite stressful and discouraging. All I can advice you to do, is to spoil yourself, eat healthy (I tend to avoid red meats and milk-products), and find a dermatologist that not only know what psoriasis is, but also understands the effects it has on a person (physically as well as mentally), and thus is willing to aid you to the best of their ability.

I Know lots of people that have had eczema really bad,and have tried EVERYTHING, only to have nothing really work.
Anyone from 3 years old to 80 years old.
Really sad.
Until they tried a lotion that I know of that has T-36 C3 melaleuca oil in it.( T-36 C3 is the highest grade of tea tree oil )
I personally do not have eczema, but this has really helped alot of people.
I don't sell it or anything but if you want more info you can email me at enhancinglivesdaily@yahoo.com

clobetosol creams help but they leave oily stains on your clothes.

my psoriasis got about 90-95% better by moving from the northeast to the southwest.

I have used MG 217 that you can buy over the counter at drug stores. Only thing is it has coal tar in it and it can stain your clothes. But the spots that have cleared up have been gone for 2 years.

Tanning helps, sea salts in the bath, & ask your pharmacist about Eucerin Emollient (it's a moisturizing cream with nothing harmful in it...that works wonders).
