absolutely.. because they are storing more fat. when they body is starved it starts using up the fat reserves and since a normal person has less fat they are unlikely to survive longer.. which is good if we were living in the middle ages where drought and hunger death was common.. :)

To be honest I am not entirely sure they would.

It depends for one how active they are. If they were particularily active protein would be a preferred energy source to fat and result in organ damage. Plus both would have roughly the same essential nutrients. Are these people going without water as well as food? If they are getting fluid does it contain a source of sodium and potassium?

I think if they were on a much reduced diet then yes the fat person would outlive the normal weight person, but if you were to cut out everything .. it'd be a close one.

No- Fat is only apparent once digestion has occurred and excess is stored in cells. Dehydration or complete lack of intake will take over regardless of how much is stored.
Yes-If weight challenged person is in better health and liquids are not considered as "food" in your question

Not necessarily, the fat person may be killed by the thin person for food.
No seriously I am not sure, but I think that due to the fact that the fat person would use up more energy it is intirely possible that they would expire first.

I think that the overweight person may well have more surplus reserves, but it would be the thin person who would plot to kill the over weight person, as thin people are not that nice and always blame the over weight person and suggest that the over weight person would eat the thin person... come chaps lets get real stop being so bigoted!

No - during the IRA hunger strikes it didn't matter what the initial mass of the individual was at the start - they all took about three months to die.

This is because bigger people need more calories than thin people and most people die from malnutrition first.

Yes as the bigger person has more reserves of fat for the body to use.

it would depend why the person was fat.

if it was becasue he/ she had a slow metabalism, they yes.. they would have more stored energy.

however, if it was becasue they had been eating 10x the amount of food as the slim person, their matabolism would be higher and they would struggle the most as their body tried to get used to being starved.
