Sadly, it is the lot of humans to question their reason for existing, to try to inject meaning into our brief existence. That isn't to say life has no meaning, only that our awareness of ourselves both as individuals and as part of a collective causes us to try to define what it means to be human. We make our judgment by observing the behaviour of others and through information collected by society (including our family). Organized religions contain more than just myths that have been handed down - they are also a repository of cultural rituals and the intellectual history of mankind - whether it's a global religion or one more locally situated. The problem is that it's nearly impossible for the average citizen to separate the culture from the religion.
There appears to be a "God-shaped blank" in the human mind - a space that only the concept of a supreme being - a Creator - seems to fit into. That will never be eliminated because we cannot prove or disprove the existence of the Prime Mover - that is, the One who started it all. We can just barely get our limited intelligence around the idea of a Prime Mover, but the need to imagine it and make it a part of our lives is universal.
I do think we'll resolve our differences in the next 40 years. Many great minds and old spirits are working to gether right now to bridge the gap between the great religions of the world. Have faith!

No, u can't be a human being and say your not religious, being religious doesn't only include devotions and going to your temple of choice, being religious means that you understand that this world and universe is so amazing that there must be some higher and perfect being, some call it God, some say it;s just a super power force, but that there's something that's above and beyond our senses and experience and that you want to find out what that is. So you see we all have beliefs, and even if you don't find yourself religious in traditional aspect, you still are cause your can't live in this world and never wonder bout things that you have experienced but can't be explained by scientific methods.

Hi:
I do not think we will have world peace until the Prince of Peace reigns on earth. Religion is often at the bottom of unrest, remember it was the religious people who condemned Jesus and sent him to the cross to die. Religion is often against God.
I think that if we are fair we must acknowledge that many of our world problems come from those who are fanatics. Some take the name of Christian and yet they know not Christ. In other words they fight under a name they deny within themselves.
Peace must begin within the human heart, this peace is found when we rest by faith on the finished work of Christ on the cross. He gives us peace within our soul. We read "Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God througnh our Lord Jesus Christ" ( Rom5:1)

Nope i should say as man had greed and betrayal in them even though there is no religious there will still be war. Man will attack each other for lands and will even betray their own kinds and beloved one inorder to achieve great things ( Not everyone ). This does not concern about religious...... Only those devils that teach the wrong belief of religious to people and lead the people under their command to war that is the devils religious.......
who causes so much death to people who taught people to kill people by gods order inorder to become gods that is the Devils teaching

The cause of all the wars, global and individual is competition to get the best, most, first, last things, and to dominate, control, have power and all that selfish stuff in general. If you take away religions that put curbs on all of this it will get worse, not better.
Most religions do put curbs on aggression and stealing and sexual exploitation and how much 'vengeance'. Without that our pleasure and comfort and male aggression would have no controls and it would really be every man and group for themselves.
The real only hope is in a religion that teaches us to Love one another mercifully, and to treat other people the way we want to be treated,, and to treat all life as precious.

nah, religions are not the causes of wars, definitely. They just used religion to gain support. Imagine an army without pay!
Even if there are no religion, the world would more chaotic, No laws and no punishments for violations, even if the world developed laws, it will always be for selfishness, because there is no universal law, wars will always be here, and quite more expensive, paying all the troops!

For religions to not exist, the pack-animal instinct humans have in their desire to feel like they belong to a group and a common purpose would also have to not exist.
Removing that would likely result in less mass/united sides in conflicts but would likely increase the greed and self-ambition through individual competition between each individual. It would be like the "everyone for themselves" concept on steroids. I think the world would actually be a bloodier, lawless place where nobody would be capable of living in peace without finding complete isolation from others. It would cure our population growth problems though... The physical as well as psychological comfort we enjoy from the "safety in numbers" concept would be completely removed.

No... but the evidence suggests that it would be significantly more peaceful than it is now. The least religious countries in the world also tend to be the most peaceful, free, enlightened and comfortable places to live.

That is a generalisation. Many wars are caused by greed and power not religion. It is human nature. World war I and II were not religious motivated.
