Does she have fleas? Some dogs are allergic to flea bites.

I think maybe the ketaconazole shampoo may be drying out your dogs skin under his coat.It has been my experience with labs that they do itch a lot but also are often flearidden because their fur is deep and has that layer of soft downy like stuff before you get to the skin. that hides the fleas. So you might ask your vet for some of the pills that dogs can take to get rid of fleas and bathe the dog less so less drying of skin. Vet might also recommend something for you.

If I am understanding your question correctly, it sounds as though your lab could possibly have dry skin. This could be caused by over bathing your dog, or not enough fatty foods. But it would be best to have your lab diagnosed by a licensed Vet to be sure it gets the proper treatment. Remember there are many problems that cause the skin to be irritated and itchy and each one has it's own treatment. I hope this helps you.

Awww...poor baby girl. Please make sure that you rinse her well. Even if you use the medicated shampoo--rinse and rinse and when the water runs clear---rinse her again. In the cold weather, I always put a little conditioner on my dog. Rub it in good and then rinse, rinse, rinse. You can also add a little oil into her food. Canola or vegetable oil will work. It will help make her coat soft and shiny. If that doesn't help, then talk to the vet about allergies.

don't you ever itch? seriously though, when you get bit by fleas you tend to itch, dogs are the same way. Just love her and she will be fine.

stop spending for a dog...instead spend the money for a child's education (a child who can't afford to)
