Women love to showcase themselves. They put 100% effort into the wedding, but not into the actual marriage, which is the whole point of a wedding, right?

I beg to differ... weddings have to be perfect for ALL women. However, one's wedding shouldn't mean a lifetime of bills. Perfection can be achieved within a budget.
If you are the groom and you have a problem indulging your bride on your wedding day when you can afford to, think really hard before you do it. The expense doesn't stop after the ceremony.
If you are on a tight budget, work it out... the journey begins here.
Good luck!

Because for some it is a once in a lifetime thing so we want it perfect. My first wedding was not perfect only married cause I was preggers. Maybe my second one will be perfect. I already have the perfect guy so why not a perfect wedding..

Because most women have put 20 some years of thought into it and they also believe (although falsely) that everyone else's wedding is perfect so theirs should be too!
The funny thing is...it's the things that go wrong that make the best memories!

a wedding can never be perfect. something always goes wrong. that just makes the day more interesting. my wedding the limo guy didn't show up. didn't let it ruin my day though!
the thought is that you only should have one wedding and make it perfect

Because they feel that the wedding will be a reflection on either the people getting married, or on the marriage itself.

I dont' know... it's pretty stupid. All that fuss for a stupid party and more than likely the marriage is crap. Most people focus more on the wedding than on the relationship and marriage itself.
Next time I get married, I'm going to Las Vegas and get married by "Elvis". :)
