Dyed in the wool christians may not be the smartest group of people. If you consider how ill-prepared our Christian president is for public office, my statement becomes believable. Christianity as a political movement has nothing to do with Christ. it is a tool specifically suited for designing the public consciousness. Quite obviously, it has been extremely effective among certain segments of the population.. Another tool that this movement uses is to accuse the other guy of doing what they themselves are doing. A main example of this is the fact that too many people who buy into this propaganda are sure that the liberals are ignorant and uneducated with weak minds. It surprises me when I hear that. Liberals generally have to dig deep to try and ascertain the truth. these religious conservatives have no need to go furhter than the surface.

That is an excellent question.Jesus wants his children to tell his truth in love. But more times than not, people let their personal feelings go ahead of god's word. They will be judged for that when the time comes.
But from a different point of view. The war we are fighting has nothing to do with politics according to the muslims. This war is holy. This has been going on long before the war in Iraq.In case you haven't heard. These Islamist extremists don't care what you believe,or don't believe. They don't care how much money you have,or how many cars you have. They don't care about americans period. They shoot first, ask questions later.
Bare in mind, the government knows a lot more about the Islamists agenda than we do.There is more to this fight than meets the eye.If we don't stop 'em now,we're screwed. Our way of life as we know it,will be over.
There are people out there that want religion to go away.If we walk away ,we will get more than we bargained for.Part of their true agenda is to burn down anything religious other than an Islamic mosque.Think about how many churches dot the United States. That's a lot of burning.Next thing they will do is martyr the real christians of this country, then they will deal with all the others.Think for a minute just how opposite the two religions are.As far as the atheist and agnostic population,it will be the biggest decision that person will have to make. The secular community will be in the same boat, the scientologists, the evolutionists. The very lives of every child will be at stake. Our children alone is enough to fight and die for.You say ,well i'll just convert to Islam and i'll be safe. It's not that easy. They'll kill you anyway just because you're an American.
Their goal is to rule the world by the sword. All who don't convert to Islam will die.
So,are you going to die an American citizen, and stand up for what is right and free, regardless of religous background or not?Or are you going to watch America get routed by an invading country. There is a reason why we fight our wars on foreign soil.So people like us don't have to.As far as the bible is concerned, you read of all kinds of different wars in the bible. All we can do is protect our country and hope we are doing the right thing. There is a difference between murder and fighting a war.Diplomacy is a good tool for solving wars, but you must have open minds on both sides of the line.Eventaully, you must draw a line in the sand and say that's enough.

Both, very good points. I am Wicca as a reference point. Christians look at the war as bringing them not only democracy (ha, ha) but morality. Morality is their big thing this administration who professes to be Christian and therefore moral. However the claim to Christianity does not make one moral it makes one saved. (think ppl think) Killing they feel is just a necessary evil in order to bring about an end and they rationalize it by "we're defending ourselves" when that is yet to be proven. Bin Laden/911 purp, was in Afghanistan, not Iraq (remember dah).
Very true that according to their own book (Bible) Jesus did not judge, God said not to judge or you would be judged (Jesus came so they wouldn't be judged but there's a stipulation) and then they turn around and judge everyone and everything. If religion of all types would get out of politics then perhaps we could get everyone on the same page. Talk it out, talk is free, it doesn't kill anyone and you can change your mind. You can't bring a dead person back. BIG DIFFERENCE!!!

War is a necessary, undesiarble evil - Christians realize that the Hitlers. bin ladens etc. are not going to go away on their own without force. We would be under their control if we did not nothing.
That is not the same as murder. Innocent lives are of the greatest value to God, and to those who follow Him.
The often-heard response is "what about the innocent lives lost in war?". It is absolutley heartbreaking and tragic - but it is impossible to protect ourselves without those costs, and I believe those lives are on the hands of the perpetrators who caused the events, not the defenders.
Hope that makes sense and Wow! I love what you said about Jesus! So true. I beleive we do try for wise dialogue, but it's effectiveness depends on the ears it falls on.

Christians tout the "Ten Commandments" as God's absolute law, but leave room for interpretation when it suits them.
In reality, religion tends to make overly strict rules so that it can claim that all people are bad and need them to get to Heaven. But in the background, they "interpret" these rules so people don't feel too down about what they do on a daily basis, and still judge others for what they do. That way they can claim they are a "Good Christian" even though they are "sinners".

Good point, yet if you had to go to war against hitler would you. I know sadaam is not hitler but like him in many ways. How soon people forget that he tortured murdered woman children and men that were innocent human beings like you and me, how much you say...well 200,000 for starters and thats just what we know about.
So let me ask you this, those 200,000 people that no longer breath, is your life more important than theirs? Is it because they are Iraqi that you seem to selectively just dismiss the fact that Sadaam is a vicious dictator whose murdered and tortured?
I am not for war, I am for protecting humans, and in a cruel world like this war is the only option sometimes. You think those luney dictators are gonna sit down and have a chat with you? Ha, never, they are not for listening you cant solve the worlds problems with people that dont want to listen.

Thou shall not kill, means thou shall not murder. God said to smite thy enemies, we can defend ourselves.
We have to many different people with different idea's in America to get along with each other.
Some want peace some don't. There are more people dying here everyday from violence than die in most wars in a month.

That's an excellent question. It defiantly is a tightrope to walk. I can give you my opinion on the subject. If we where a nation under God who believed me must not raise our hands in anger. then ou nation would have destroyed hundreds of years ago. To live free in a country, and have the liberties to practice your religious beliefs without fear of others comes at a cost. So the moral issue is do you defend your right to worship, or not raise a hand against someone willing to take away your rights?

God is not again war - which is killing. He is against murder though. They really are two different things. As for Americans being Christians - sure they say they are, but are they really. No, they are not. They believe in God but they do not believe in Jesus - so they do not have real Christianity. Blessings.

American Christians are on a different wavelength. They have an abnormal mindset. You only need to read some of their weird and wonderful comments on this board to know that. It's pointless trying to rationalise their opinions, but looking from the UK it does worry me that the world's one global superpower has such a high percentage of religious fruitcakes who are intent on furthering their own warped agenda at any cost.
