First of all, understand that your abs are just like any other muscle group. There is no need to do an insane amount of crunches or sit ups in an effort to chisel out you 6-pack. Most of us who can't see our abs think that crunches and like exercises will solve the problem. You couldn't be more wrong. The reason you don't see you rock hard abs is because of the body fat that is blocking them. So to get those abs to pop start by making sure your diet is in check. You can do all the training in the world, but if you eat the wrong thing, you'll never see those abs. Then increase your cardio and resistance training. Both will help increase you metabolism; burning body fat faster. Once your on the right path you can do crunches, reverse crunches, leg lifts, and sit ups to tone up the muscles. You can use machines or your own body resistance. You don't need to do too many to see the results. Train abs like any other muscle 2 - 3 times per week. Again the key is reducing the body fat that is blocking your view. Good Luck.

Hanging leg lifts. The gym should offer some arm slings that hang from chin-up bars. just make sure to fully extend and stretch your core area each rep, or you wont get the full work out. adding weight helps. whatever you do, make sure to attack diff. angles and areas of your abs by switching it up constantly. Dont need a lot a reps, 12-15 max for 3-4 sets. Just doing sit ups will not do the trick alone.

Crunches; loads of them. Also on a lat pull down machine, put on the rope, and you no as if you were gunna do the tricep exercise, instead keep hands by your sides and crunch down. Adding weight is best way to work abs. Remember they are stil a muscle.
