Is there anyway to curl straight/wavy hair without using heat? Frstly my hair dries out too much when I use curling irons, secondly, I have alot of thick hair which means my shoulders are pretty much dislocated by the time I'm finished! So any tips?

There are a number of ways to curl hair without using heat...the old fashioned way was to use paper curlers, and by the way the paper you use has to brown paper so that you can twist the paper, and then use setting hair products then put the paper curler, do this in sections...the results?...you get the most natural soft curl ever, or you can use velcro curlers that you sleep in, or rollers, even braid your hair losely and next day you have waves...the tighter you do the plait the more wavier the hair becomes. good luck.

This remade I use is awesome here's what you'll need...
2 small rubber bands
Brush
2 big elastic bands
Mouse
I promise this remedy will work
First take shower get out get most of water out of hair then make 2 tight braids then wrap them around like a bun sorta then keep them in over night then wella you'll have nice beachy soft braids but do NOT brush the curls they will get ruined

-hopes this works out well!

You should do the cacoons. There's a video on how to do it. It's by BeautyKLove on YouTube. It's called something like, "How to curl hair without heat, French braiding or any products". She doesn't do them on top of each other. Like, take one section and make them into 3 sections on top of each other. You should try doing it like that if your hair is hard to style. I tried it; I didn't think it would work, but it did! I was so surprised. You might want to untwist your hair after taking them out the next morning. Because you have to twist a piece of your hair in a step. You have to do that or you won't be able to style it that well. It'll be very hard. Sorry for a long answer. Hope I helped! :)

Take an old pillow case or sheet, depending on how long your hair is, and cut it lengthwise into 1 inch strips. Section your hair by, parting it in the middle, then make one section from your eyebrow to eyebrow. Pin that section on top of your head. Then make two more sections, leaving the last one down. wind 1 inch sections around the strip Tie the two ends of the strip together. Continue through one section then move on two the next. After complete, spritz with hairspray and when you wake up take it out. The trick for spiral, is not to comb out the curls spray with hairspray and go.

Yes there is a way.Its a bit old fashioned but works great. All you do is take an old bed sheet and cut it into long thin strips that will allow you to wrap your hair in a spiral all the way to the end and then you tie one end of the strip to the other end.Do this at night after you have washed your hair and leave it damp, not soaking wet.Sleep in it and then after you know its completely dry, take them out.You will be so surprised at how great these curls look. But it is not bad for your hair and its easy to sleep in witch is important, who wants to wake up to beautiful hair but have huge bags to go with it?I hope this works and each time you do it it gets easier.Bye

I french braid my hair when it is damp (not drenching wet) but damp. It makes a wave. Also every now and again I take bits of my hair roll it, and make a bun. I do a hole bunch of them all over my head let me hair dry and then I take them out. it makes more of a curl then a wave but it isn't like a curling Iron curl. you can also try dry rollers. Back in the day they used rags to curl their hair. their are many things you can do you just need to be creative.

I recommend curlers, or get a headband and twist your hair and wrap it around it while it's on your head but make sure you hair is damp when you start. My hair is the same way and they both work but add hairspray.

This is how I do my Sprial Curls.

Apply Setting Lotion to wet hair.
Then use magnetic rollers and roll sideways the entire head.
The next day remove the rollers and shake head, or pull each curl.

That's it.

wash your hair and comb through before applying a strong non flaky type setting lotion or mouse and then roller set your hair using 1" - 1 1/2" sized magnetic rollers or plastic salon type mesh rollers with pins, after you have set your entire head cover with net and leave your hair to air dry can sometimes take up to 6-8 hours for my hair to dry

note vary sizes of rollers depending upon how much curl that you wish to receive,

alternatively you can set your hair before going to bed but please make sure that you pin rollers together to stop them from moving while you sleep

you can always ask your mum, sister, friends to help each other to set rollers into each others hair

ok for me i'm the same way! but i found out this-
1st take a shower and wash/conition hair
2nd let it air dry for 10 min
3rd brush all tangles out (if not done after step 1)
4th pull 1/3 of your hair and twist it then twirl it around the twisted hair then secure with hair scrunchie
5th repeat with other hair
6th put some gel on it
7th sleep
8th in the morning take the hair scrunchies out and wallah you have pretty, curly, lushious hair!!!
