Not really. It's about as useful as fidgeting. It's not as if there really are any gods out there being impressed by your chant.

I personally believe that prayer is on impulse and not a ritual. No where in the Holy Bible is a rosary mentioned. I believe in strictly following what the bible teaches and not in other books. I am always weary of people taking the Bible out of context and writting this other small books which may sound as near as the truth and yet it's false. That's why i stick to the Bible and anything not indicated there i wouldn't do.
So my advise is when you feel like praying, just tell God what you are feeling at that the moment and pour out your heart to him, that's what Jesus done according to the Lord's prayer. You don't have to rehearse or recite others prayer.
Hope this helps you, God bless

muslims also use rosaries (obviously there is no cross and the prayer is a little different... but i think my philosophy on using it as a daily ritual might help you). i hang one on my car mirror. for me it helps b/ whenever i feel far from God, am having a hard time, or feel myself being tempted by something it is not only there as a reminder but i can pray if i need to. i think it is a wonderful practice

peace be unto you

The Rosary is not used for praying; you use it to praise Allah and it helps you keep the count. There are certain phrases for praising Allah, asking for His forgiveness, thanking Him for His countless blessings, etc to say every day. It gives you inner peace and keeps Allah always in your heart. You can do it using your fingers for count but, personally, I lose count on fingers. The rosary helps me concentrate on what I am saying more than numbers.

a rosary and its beads are meant for those who have difficulty in concentrating! so they twiddle the beads/stones between their fingers to keep their mind frm wandering.
did Jesus pray with a Rosary or did he ever pray to his mother (Mary)?
if he didnt we dont need to!
HE taught the "Our Father" without need of any beads/stones or anything! Just simply pray to God as if u are talking to Him will serve ur purpose!

It's very helpful and calming. It's a time out of your busy day to destress and connect with God.
