Two things that I do on Xmas.
One - every Christmas Eve after the big family party, my children are allowed to open a few gifts. New pajamas, sometimes a new robe and/or slippers if they need it. They love having new warm pj's when they open their presents in the morning.
(This one my mom did for us, and she still does, actually. Hey, I get her one too now.)
Two - They each get a new ornament every year. Sometimes they're Hallmark ones, sometimes they're glass, sometimes they're ones that they find at xmas shops around. One year they got handmade ceramic ones that emphasized their favorite activity. When they are adults & move out, they will already have a tree full of ornaments. (This I picked up from a friend, who's parents did it for her, and my children will be carrying this on, they love it.)

We have a tradition of giving gifts for the twelve days leading up to Christmas. The gifts are very small and I try to collect them throughout the year. I try to not spend more than a couple of dollars on any one gift but I take the time to wrap each of the twelve days gifts and my children just can't wait for dinner each night leading up to Christmas. We usually try to make the gifts artsy/craftsy so the kids can make things to be used as Christmas decorations or gift wrapping. My kids are 14, 10, 7 and 9 months and even the 14 year old still says that this is one of her favorite holiday traditions. They love the little gifts and as they get older I think they appreciate the thought that goes into them. I love shopping on the Internet and looking through the clearance items to find some great bargains.

Every Christmas Eve my father would read us the night before christmas . We still go over to his house and have him read it too all the grandchildren. We also have a family dinner every other Saturday at my house, like my mother use to do with all her family at ours.

hey am African so we have lots of traditions that we have to pass on.one of them is small marks given on the face of babies(that eventually disappear or leave tiny marks)believed to prevent babies from having convulsions.I allowed my baby to be given this marks,i cried with my baby when the procedure was being done but i have strong believe that it worked. We have lots of traditions we pass on that my daughter is still too young for.Like ritual baths before marriage, making sure your daughter learns how to cook and take care of the house before she is completely grown and so many other things

Like if you spin your plate before your parent goes to work, it will bring good fortune.
And if the picture of someone falls down and breaks to pieces while he/she's away, a catastrophe will befall upon him
