It's definitely a toss up between screaming babies, cell phones, or people talking. I honestly can't say which annoys me more, but I will go off on people for doing any of those things during a movie I have paid to see. Get a sitter, or wait for the DVD. If the phone call is that important, you DO NOT need to be watching a movie, you need to go deal with what ever the situation is. And talk about the movie after it's over, I don't need your scene by scene commentary in my ear for the entire film. And by you, I don't mean you, asker of the question, I'm just saying you in general. And yes, I'm having a little bit of a bad day, sorry to sound so b!tchy. Maybe I'll go to the movies tonight, hahahaha!

Talking during the movie, using your cell phone, getting up a hundred times (a bathroom trip is not a problem, but you don't need to do it a hundred times - and if you do, you should be at the doctor instead of the movies, thank you!) putting your feet up on the seat where I am sitting, (get your feet out of my hair!) and parents who bring little children to movies that aren't quiet appropriate for them. Once, I even saw someone smoking in a movie theatre!
Probably the worst though, was when my boyfriend and I went to see The Grudge .. there was this PACK of adolescents at the back of the theatre, about three rows behind us..they were up and down the whole time, cell phones were ringing (and being answered!) girls were shrieking with laughter at boys doing lord knows what to them, and finally....someone dropped a giant fistful of PENNIES all over the place. So of course, all the adolescents got up, climbing over seats and people, laughing at the pennies they were trying to pick up! After the movie was over we went and complained to the manager, and we got free vouchers for another film.

Anything to do with cell phones. Not only do people talk on them during the movie, but they decide that they have to check on that bright blue display to see what time it is. Grrrr. It's easy enough to find the length of the movie online, so people should schedule and go to a movie when they have plenty of time. Therefore, no need to check the time in the movie theatre!

I agree with all the cell phone and cying baby answers.
However i had an incident when i went to see Mr & Mrs Smith (awful movie by the way) where these people sat in front of my wife and i and they were eating this nasty a$s greasy fried food. We could smell it and the people kept licking their fingers and making all this noise. It was the last time i went to the theatre. I stick with On Demand and Blockbuster.

OKAY - HERE WE GO......
People who talk on their cell phones in the movie.
People who bring their screaming babies/children to the movies - and don't take them out when they start acting up.
People who kick your seat from behind - repeatedly.
People who talk in the movie - or have already seen the movie and ruin it by telling what is coming up next. ARGHHH!
People who throw popcorn or candy.
Children running up and down the aisles.
Coughing people - you know the ones who are hacking up their lungs.
People who bring small children to obviously inappropriate movies (slasher, adult, etc.).
Basically - anyone who distracts or detracts from the movie experience -----Should be put to death. LOL

Talking and generally rude behavior is bad, but what really bugs me is when somebody brings a big bag of sunflower seed to eat during the movie and they are spitting them out the whole time.
;-D Eeew. Gross!

Cell phones ringing, or people talking throughout, even if it's about the movie. My ex-husband was a talker at movies, and I would try to shush him, but he couldn't help himself. It was really annoying, and embarrassing, as other people would shush him too. Plus, since it was me he was talking to, it was distracting, and he'd get mad if I shushed him.
