mine is "water butts" but that's 2 words...

why would anyone have created a word that means "fear of peanut butter being stuck to the roof of one's mouth".........

zhoozh.....the problem is no one knows exaclty how to spell it.... (sound as first part of Dr Zhivago then oooo then Dr Zhivago again)

example...."mmm this room is a bit dull, lets give it a lick of paint to give it a zhoozh" etc etc blah blah blah

The big issue is...is it a real word, we use it all the time but it never gets written......if we can agree a spelling then it has a chance of appearing in the press and then after due course become a real word

dictionary definition could read:
Zhoozh: meaning to give something Ooomph!......Oh God...but what about Ooomph?

Its like asking why is abbreviationsuch a long word and why is dyslexia so hard to spell... but for the funniest word it has to be "Gay" it means fun and was once a common christian name, if you dont believe me try using it in its correct form in everyday conversation. . .heres one to start with... drop into a conversation .." I had a gay time last night with my wife"
