"Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you...for if you love them which love you, do not even the publicans do the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, do not even the publicans do the same?"
Matthew 5:44-47

Honestly, I think you really need to stop interpreting the bible worng... just taking pieces and assuming things is not how it works.... You can't take part of something and run with it, you either take all of it, or none... you are making yourself look ignorant... If you aren't christian, then why are you so focused on our beliefs? Who are you trying to convince that christianity is wrong, us or yourself?! :) I think you are in the state of denial.

Lamp Lighter, you ask great questions. True oneness with our Lord is found in the love we have for each other. We won't reach that height of spirituality until we love each other unconditionally like our Father does us, as One in the whole.

In the verse you provided it says to love everyone even your worst enemy. Even the pagans can love those who love them. If that was what Jesus wanted us to do it would be easy. Loving your mom or dad or grandparents is easier than loving Hitler but God wants us to do it.

Perhaps they simply ignore that part as they do when it comes to everything else that they find hard to follow, like the wearing of only one material for example...?

I believe what Jesus was saying was to treat all people kindly, and respectfully.
