A Friday occurring on the 13th day of any month is considered to be a day of bad luck in English and Portuguese-speaking cultures around the globe. Similar superstitions exist in some other traditions. In Greece and Spain, for example, Tuesday the 13th takes the same role. The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia, a specialized form of triskaidekaphobia, a phobia (fear) of the number thirteen.
There have been a number of events known as "Black Fridays" in history. Usually, these events are devastating. Some historians propose that the origin of the "Black Friday" was the simultaneous arrest of hundreds of Knights Templars on October 13, 1307 (Friday), to be later tortured into admitting heresy.
Strangely, there is evidence to suggest that Friday the 13th is actually unlucky. Psychologists have found that some people are especially likely to have accidents or fall ill on Friday the 13th. This has been attributed to such people feeling a heightened state of anxiety on that day (see nocebo effect). The Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Asheville, North Carolina estimates that in the United States alone, $800 or $900 million is lost in business each Friday the 13th because some people will not travel or go to work.
Also, usually there is at least up to three Friday the 13ths that occurs each year. Next year the dreaded day lands on April and July and the years that have three Friday the 13ths are 2009, 2015 and 2026. The months on those three years are February, March and November.

Doesn't bother me. I love the number 13 my birthday is on the 13th. Now my mother has a pee pee if I drive on Friday the 13th, or anytime in the month of September because several of my family members have died in car accidents in September. She's very superstitious!

It's a day were things can go wrong because the number 13 is supposedly cursed. At least that's what some beleive. And that's also why if you go into any building that goes pass the 12th floor, there will be no 13th floor!! Ooooh spooky huh. But It's true.
