Don't use head and shoulders or any other product manufactured by Proctor and Gamble - from my understanding and information they are not only satanists but test products cruelly on animals - anyhoo...I have a dry scalp too, esp over the past few years I asked a long time and respected hairdresser recently what I should do..I always thought shampoo was to clean your hair and conditioner to condition it-wrong. Shampoo is for the scalp, she said first get a good brush like duboa which massages the scalp and give the scalp a good brush which will loosen any dandruff then shampoo with a good anti-dandruff shampoo, advance techniques (avon) or other good quality (these antidandruff shampoos are generally conditioners too) and (not tested on animals - but humans..cause we're the ones using them!..) from a salon, repeat and rinse well if required then a good moisturising conditioner and rinse well too. Regards Laura - it's helped me a lot!!

1)Take one gram of Sour curd n 4 table spoon of Mustard Oil ...n one lemon's Juice.....mix it n.....massage it @ Night in ur hair roots n then whole hair....wash it in morning wid head n Shoulders
2)add some drops of Lemon Juice in ur shampoo
3)Try lemon juice and Nizoral antidandruff medicated shampoo. It really works. Apply lemon juice (fresh) on your scalp and leave it for several hours then wash your hair and scalp using nizoral shampoo. Once resolved try to change your usual shampoo let say every month or two because using same shampoo makes sort of chemical build up which can irritate and could result to skin dryness thus flaking. Wash your hair and scalp regularly ,it will help a lot to eliminate dead skin before it can build up into larger flakes. After bath moist your scalp with little oil (vaseline or any baby oil) and avoid overexposure to the sun and another thing that you have to practice is avoiding warm water to wash your scalp. Keep using cool water to wash your scalp as warm water adds scalp dryness
4)Dandruff is caused by candida (yeast) overgrowth. Cut out all wheat and dairy products for a week, or two if you can manage it, and you should see a big difference.
5) after shampooing your hair add vinegar to water & rinse your hair with it. (it will sting a bit, but it does work)

I. Definition:
A person's entire body surface continuously sheds dead skin cells. The skin itself sheds every twenty-four days. Dandruff, the shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp at an excessive rate, is the result of the normal growing process of the skin cells of the scalp.

II. Causes:
* Dandruff is seasonal. It is most severe during the winter and mildest during the summer.
* The most common symptom of dandruff is scaling; itching is occasionally present.
* Dandruff scales usually occur as small, round, white-to-gray patches on the top of the head; however, scaling can occur anywhere on the scalp.
* The following factors may make the flaking of dandruff worse:
- Excessive use of hairsprays and gels.
- Improper use of hair-coloring products or excessive use of electric hair curlers
- Cold weather and dry indoor heating.
- Tight fitting hats and scarves.
- Infrequent shampooing of the hair or inadequate rinsing.
- Stress, anxiety and tension.

III. Treatment:
* Since dandruff is a natural process, it can not be eliminated; it can only be controlled.
* Mild dandruff may be controlled by regularly shampooing the scalp with a mild, non-medicated shampoo. If frequent shampooing alone does not control the dandruff, a medicated dandruff shampoo can be used.
* The most direct way to control dandruff is to use a shampoo that contains a cytostatic agent, such as selenium sulfide or zinc pyrithione. Cytostatic agents reduce the rate of growth and multiplication of ***** cells (top layer of skin on the scalp), which caused a noticeable decrease in visible dandruff within several weeks. Shampoos containing selenium sulfide should not be used if there is a cut or abrasion on the scalp.
* Tar shampoos such as Tarsum will help to control dandruff.
* When scaling of the scalp is accompanied by redness and greasy scaling on the face, eyebrows and eyelashes, a person may have something other than dandruff. You should contact your doctor if the redness is present, or if scaling occurs on parts of the body other than the scalp.

Get a bottle of Tea Tree Oil and dilute it. Because dandruff is fungal, it works well. Tea Tree Oil is a natural germicide and fungicide.

Make sure you have no gel or wax or anything in your hair. After you get out of the shower, dry your hair until it is damp, and then use the Tea Tree Oil and water solution in a bowl to massage into your scalp. Make sure it isn't too weak, but not so strong as to burn your eyes if you accidently get it in them.

Leave it for a minute or two, and then rinse your hair out with clean water. Keep this treatment up for a while, and it should be fine. It smells nice too, and is a different alternative to the boring old soap smell.

Dandruff can be removed by massaging the hair for half an hour with curd or apply fenugreek seed paste for half an hour and wash. Always remember to keep the hair and scalp clean.

Selsun Blue is better than Head and Shoulders. Don't wash everyday either.
