When the operator sees a shielded area, they increase the power of the X-rays to penetrate the foil / container.
It is common practice to do this.

You probably won't be able to carry any food in from a foreign origin.
You need to check with Airport Officials before making any plans to do so.
IF you are allowed to carry them into this country, the amount of radiation that the scanners produce is not enough to hurt it.
You would have to have hoards of radiation to hurt things as such. . . .the employes that handle the scanners are at more of a risk than any of the people who travel the skies.

it may protect it...but the scanners will pick it right up and you will be pulled over and have to open it up.. used to work for airport security and people would put pot or other stuff in foil and it would show up as a dark spot, which is suspicious. the amount of radiation any food product would get is negligable..dont worry about it

positioned it on. the warmth sort the sunlight will fry your concepts then you definately won't ought to subject approximately cellular telephones. I worked in Radio and Radar websites for 27 years in the militia. extra RF radiation (the type a cellular telephone emits) in one day than you will see out of your cellular telephone on your existence time. The VOA transmitter internet site in Manila in the 60's had lots means the flourescent lights have been lit devoid of even being under pressure out. It hasn't affected me or any of the adult men I served with so why subject a pair of dinky little cellular telephone. Sheesh!

Probably not, but if it did, all they'll do is open your bag for a visual inspection.
