Yes: the noise of Hurricane Ivan immediately overhead. It was utterly indescribable and the closest I can come is by suggesting that it was like all the demons in hell screaming in a cacophony of sound.

I heard the frozen surface of a lake in a deep valley move after a day in the sunshine and then refreezing in the evening. Boy what a sound that was !
I thought then that if it was prehistoric days they would have thought it was some big monster in there ( probably the basis of a lot of legends )

yes there is a certain noise I remember hearing that is almost impossible to describe yet once heard would never be forgotten especially by those who enjoy the memory

yes me and my hubby parked up at the end of some woods (don't really need to explain why do i?) and i remember hearing a roar but it was not human or animal.
we didn't stay to find out
