I believe it would be nearly impossible to not ask such a question especially if the child is your own. And I do not believe that God is offended by such a question. He lost a Son once and He knows full well the pain that you are going through. He has felt it Himself.

And paradoxically He felt it for the same reason. Sin.

It is easy, especially when someone you love is hurting, to assume that a God of great power who claims to be a God of Love can and should immediately stop the pain. But sadly that is not possible in every situation. Even when Jesus physically walked upon this Earth, there were millions all around Him who experienced such suffering. And short of completely redesigning the entire universe to be 100% under God's control it was impossible to stop it. He could certainly have done so. It was within His power. But it was not within His purpose.

This world was created by God as a place for us to establish relationship with God Himself. The plan was to put us here with an intelligent mind and a free will to learn to love Him during this short span of time WE call life. And to do that, it was necessary to also allow us to sin if we so chose. And that sin is the cause of the pain that you are speaking of, NOT GOD.

In His plan, we would have all remained in the Garden in perfect health until he gave us Heaven as our eternal reward. But we would have none of it. And the consequence was that sin, pain, suffering, and death have now become the norm for humanity. Sadly, that is OUR fault, NOT God's. We brought this on ourselves, and we DARE to look God in the face and shake our fist at Him and accuse Him of a faulty design.

And of course, someone will say that it is not fair for God to punish the children for the acts of the parents. And I say that he is not punishing them. They are simply caught up in the natural consequences of the actions of those how have gone before them. It cannot be otherwise. It is folly to assume that God could create a world in which only the sinners suffered for their act. To do so would require Him to cause all babies to be born in the Garden while their parents act out their rebellion elsewhere.

so much anger...Of COURSE we ask why terrible things are allowed to happen. OF COURSE we ask that it will be stopped. This is the same old story....How can you believe in something that would let such atrocities occur? And when prayer doesn't make these things "magically" disappear, then you are quick to jump up and say "SEE! I told you so!"
For some, there is faith and belief in a higher purpose. That there is a reason to the rhyme. THAT is how we can move through those things.
I don't ask you to believe that, I don't ask you why you DON'T believe that. For some, there is solace in believing that there is a reason for all things, a time for all things, a purpose. Why try to deny someone that solace? Is there no logic in letting that person find comfort where they will?

Imagine a world in which there was never any pain, never any hunger, never any disease, never any fear, never any hate, never any anger, never any respect, never any worry...would anyone DO anything? Why? Would the stories or people's lives in this world be of any interest to anyone at all? Why? If you have complete freedom, except that you cannot choose any alternative whose consequence involves pain, hunger, disease, fear, hate, anger, respect, or worry for you or for anyone,, is that freedom? If you have the freedom to paint any picture you like except that you cannot ever use any dark colors or any darkness,, is that freedom? If you have the freedom to compose or to play any music you like so long as there are no low notes or minor keys,, is that freedom?

God does no evil acts.
God allows everything, pain and pleasure, hunger and satiety, disease and health, fear and 'like', hatred and love, anger and contrition, respect and gratitude, worry and serenity... Without the opposites being available, there is no contrast, and what is left is never valued (it isn't valued enough anyway, but that's another question). We each get to choose, even before we are born, what kind of life we are going to paint/ write/ sing, hoping that it will be of interest to more people than just ourselves, using pain to sculpt pleasure, etc.
Prayer in regards to a child who is screaming in pain is not focused (if rational at all) on stopping God, but on the spirit of the child learning everything it will ever need to know (about pain or disease) from this experience.

children born in pain, deformities is the proof against christians

they simply blame the baby on the mom or dad for other people's sins and claim prayer is only thing that will save

modern christians like to aviod those born deformed because they don't have a sound answer or a smug answer for this, because 'god' doesn't answer prayers for the invalids and physically challenged, nor the amputated

but they speak of god as if a Genie that you must pray for anything to happen

I live my life almost exclusively without prayer and things happen good and beneficial that is mutual to myself and those around me

when I do pray, it's to ME or those around to ask the living for help, a talking prayer we call communication

Whatever the reason for this child's pain, it is not of God's doing. When I pray for him I will pray that God will take him quickly while he sleeps and then he can be reborn in Heaven with the perfect body God has in store for him. When I pray for you, I will pray that God gives you the courage to stand by and hold and love this child for every minute you have left and that God will carry you through your pain when the child is gone. Rest in the knowledge that God sheds tears with you and the child and is waiting with open arms to carry him / her home. God bless you in your time of need.

God is not doing anything evil to anyone. i don't understand your fascination with the minimsters daughter or the sharing of your smallness. unfortnalte pain and misery is a part of this lifein which we live. if this is the same child with the cancer -i pity your foolishness.
the child, while he/she has suffered in painon this earth, is not in heaven with her reward. God does not allow children to suffer - things happen as a direct result of our lives.
may God have mercy on your soul!

Is it any worse for a child to suffer and die than it was for HIS SON, JESUS ? He put him on earth to Die ! His walking on this earth and dying on the cross was foretold many years before he was born. He sent his son into this world to DIE so that we would not die but have ETERNAL life in HEAVEN with him. The pain and suffering is just a blink of an eye in ETERNITY.

Nowadays there are pain killers and drugs, also for children, that can be properly used in these cases. It is not acceptable that in 2006 an ill child must die in pain.If you think that God is doing nothing,do it yourself.Ask any reliable doctor and your kid will be given something for bearing better his/her condition and if he/she must die at least won't die screaming.

God never does evil things. Pain and suffering is caused by sin... someones. God has reasons for things.

One I said to Him that something He did didn't make sense. He said "No, what you did doesn't make sense". So God has reason and purpose to what He does or lets happen.

So everything bad in the world is God's fault? Grow up. Get off your behind and do something instead of insulting Christians!
