Or is it's economic purpose - only too justify it?

Serious question.

Wisdom.
You know nothing about me. Not one solitary thing . How dare you presume otherwise. I have worked voluntarily many many times, and in quite dangerous envirionments (substance misuse field), for 5 years. I hope you now appologise.

These people didn't lack morality, they were mainly the friends and family of substance users - who were mostly poor..

How dare you judge people..Who do you think you are?

Wise one

Where have I judged you, and why are you not appologising for referring to the friends and families of substance users as "immoral", even after I pointed this out...

Why are you allowed such arrogance?

You assume to much about people who you know absolutely nothing about.

I hope god likes his new - christian self styled spokespeople and appreciates what a damn fine job they are doing - on his behalf.

it depends how things sway in the balancing of it all...
if cynics like yourself who sit back, do nothing and criticize us do gooders who campaign, volunteer, rally, ACT and HELP, outweigh us "do-gooders" then, perhaps we might "cure" poverty, that which wasnt caused by us, but probably by cynics like yourself who create the mess of marginilizing people by your cynicism and selfishness

In order for poverty to be cured, Christanity doesnt really enter into the global ethos. It may work on a small local scale but worldwide due to different religions it wont. Morality on the other hand could play a part but then again what you see as right I might see as wrong. What will help more than anything is the wealthy countries being 'moral' in wiping off dept to poverty sticken countries however, the morality here is very economically driven to the benefit of the western country. Greed though plays the most significant part in increasing poverty.

Blessed are the poor -in spirit

for thiers is the kingdom of god

christianity tells it's impoverished education and riches is a scurge and of the devil, and to be happy with the simple things in life, as does the muslim or islam faith

learning teachings outside "will of god" is considered unnecessary and sometimes sinful so an education beyond the law of 12 yrs is often not followed or deemed necessary as 'god' will provide and keep people 'down'

moraliy- morals are defined by those in charge - it will change again with new leaders of politics

it used to be principles and ethics held society together until violence and 'thunder gods' or One god and the struggle to eliminate all other gods took hold, still going on that consumes us to fight and kill each other and keep us all in poverty

Yes. There will come a time when there will be none who are poor. But know that it won't happen during this age. There is just far more poor than there are Christians who are able to give.

But, perhaps if everyone lived by the Christian ideal, that you give 100% of what is possible for you to give, every time the opportunity arises... then, perhaps then, we might get close to wiping poverty out.

I love it.
Christianity is all about redemption and a relationship with GOD through Jesus Christ. Jesus was born in a manger for a reason. The world is about money and power and stuff you don't need. There is nothing wrong with being rich or being poor. What matters is were you stand with GOD. Anyone who tells you otherwise or talks about financial prosperity is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

May GOD richly bless you.

No.

Listen to Jesus more closely:

"Surely you're not saying we have the resources to save the poor from their lot!?
"There will be poor always, pathetically struggling, look at the good things you've got!
Think while you still have me, move while you still see me!!"

Besides, then who would inherit the earth?

No. Not until Satan is removed from the earth. Jesus said as much.
(Matthew 26:11) For YOU always have the poor with YOU, but YOU will not always have me.

No, not something will treatment poverty. And in case you think of Christianity provides you capitalism with a morality, thank God (no pun meant), as capitalism without morality could be a nightmare.

Religions that participate in trying to out-breed each other are the cause of poverty.
