Has Louisiana recoverd from the destruction brought by the Hurricane Katrina?And how is New orleans now?

We still need alot of work.. and help aswell.. but if you are visiting as a tourist .. then you will most likly not see any part of it .. unless you specifically look for the areas that were hit hard by the hurricane. New Orleans is still a great place to visit.. french quarter was mainly untouched by the hurricane .. most the tourist attractions are up and running again..

We were in New Orleans in April and the areas we visited looked good. The French Quarter is almost back to normal and more businesses are opening each week I am told.
The hardest hit areas will be a long time in getting back to prestorm shape with some never. This is due to politics and plain old economics. If you don't have insurance then you won't have the money to rebuild. That is just common sense.

It seems to be a very long process of rebuilding.

Still overall a ghost town. And Tulane is DESPERATE for doctors to train.
